You might think my title a little ambiguous, but in the reality of climate change in South Africa . . . i give you clarity on my title.
Yesterday it reached a sweltering 41*C in the shade at 14h00! Not even the tepid swimming pool water was giving any relief. No breeze, no clouds, just HOT open skies baking down on humans, earth and animals, almost turning the little SA Nation into Char'ed Christmas Delights!!
If Hell is Hot, then yesterday must have been a foretaste of Hell.
Did you know, that in a remote area of the Northern Cape bordering Botswana, you will find a little place called HOTAZEL - aptly named after the pun "Hot as Hell" because the farm survived many a drought in the unforgiving African Sun.
It only has 598 households, which is hometown to Manganese mining and Rhodochrosite (scalenohedral gem crystals) used for gems . . . and lucky for me, this is one of the places I shall be visiting during my African Safari of Botswana, Namabia, Kalaghadi Frontier Park in February.
The weather is part of the ECO pattern, without the sun blazing heat there is no evaporation, without the evaporation there is no cloud buildup, without the clouds there is no rain, without the rain there is no growth . . . and so it goes on and on and on . . . .
I shall have to bear with even though I might want to Bare with!!! (Just for Maluse)
Have a great Monday. Tell me your Sunday stories . . .

No wonder we talk about the weather so much - it can have such an impact on our lives. I really don't miss 40 degree days during the Aussie summers. Do you drape wet towels around you to stay cool?

The cycle reminds me of our Monsoon seasons. At a certain part of the year the humidity starts going up - but the rains don't start till the heat also gets high enough. Usually late June, early July, and lasting till sometime in September.
