A Moving Company with a Heart

You may have seen this story on Facebook about a Southern California moving company called Meathead Movers.
For nearly 18 years, they have quietly, quickly and discreetly provided free moves to victims of domestic abuse, usually women and their children.
When desperate women call their moving company, they refer them to local shelters so the women can make their plans. Then, when the time is right, Meathead Movers handles everything for them, without charge.
I thought it would be nice to share a few "feel-good" stories this time of year. There seems to be so much sad news. We all deserve to hear about people who are quietly doing things to make the world a better place.
If you are interested, or you know someone who might need the service, you can read more about the company here:

I was really touched when I read about this. The next time someone in our family does a local move, I hope to use this company. They deserve all the paying customers they can get.

They are only in California. However, it would be nice if other companies would also provide this service to abused women in their communities.

I wish every person or company would select one issue or problem in society and help resolve it.

@ElizabethWallace - That could make a huge difference to the bee problem.

Wouldn't that be nice? Every company could reach out and help solve problems like hunger, homelessness, etc. What if every apartment complex in the U.S. dedicated one apartment for a homeless family, veteran, or poverty stricken elderly person? Wouldn't that make a huge difference? What if car dealers gave one used car a month away to a worker whose car had broken down, making it hard for them to get to work? Those types of actions could change lives.

@DeborahDiane Every building with a flat roof should house a bee hive. So many easy fixes!

I agree. I like to read "feel good stories," so I though it was time to share one, too.

I agree. We focus so much on the bad people in the world. It is good to know there are good ones, too.

They do this out of their normal business. They do not ask anyone to make donations to them; nor do they ask for government assistance. Instead, if people want to help victims of domestic violence, they suggest that you donate to a women's shelter in your area. I believe this is a really wonderful company. The next time someone in our family does a local move, I hope we are able to hire them. I think they deserve all the paying customers they can get.

It certainly is a feel good story and thanks for sharing it. Normally we're bombarded with news that is anything but "feel good"

I agree that this is a noble, kind company. What amazes me is that this company has been doing these moves quietly for the past 18 years, without any publicity until now.
