Alright myLot, I'll give you all I got!

Now that I have my HughesNet Satellite Internet and cancelled the Verizon, I'm am set to go, I mean stay - stay longer without worrying about sky-high bills! When I called Verizon the representative I spoke with couldn't believe my bill was $400, she said something like, "I know I couldn't afford to pay that." Well, gee, you think that's a good enough reason to quit Verizon? It is so nice that I can walk away and know that I am not spending extra money. The service, so far, is perfectly fine. I have tried a few different sites and I am OK with things the way they are. I just hope they stay good! I know, things happen and they probably will. But, I paid $400 a month and things happened, so paying $70 a month I certainly can deal with a few mishaps! Unfortunately I have to run out later. I have to finish my dental visit from Monday The hygienist couldn't polish my teeth on Monday because my gums were sore from the deep cleaning the dentist did. Hope you are all having a good day.

Holy smoke! $400 for an internet connection is terrible! I think even my idol - Donald Trump - would be howling like me! He would surely SUE Verizon if he were you!

I flipped out when I got the bill and said some words even a truck driver would blush over. You win a suit over something like this - I had overage...they charged an arm and two legs...no lawyer in their right mind would take a case like that against Verizon.

What I had was a small unit about the size of a pack of cigs. It is a small modem for internet. Not TV no..not phone no. Just internet.

@AbbyGreenhill that's very very expensive. we've got ultra fast fibre optic broadband unlimited use and unlimited phone and we pay less than that for a year. that's on virgin media.

I hope your gums will be better by Monday, my husband had the same problem one year, he changed his dentist.

I have a lot of bone loss therefore my roots are almost above the gum line. That's why I get infections. The dentist deep cleans my roots every 3 months - to help avoid the infections. Most dentist would force me to have laser gum work done,, which I don't want...he's helping put that off for as long as possible and he doesn't charge much. He did the job Monday and by yesterday I was fine.

@AbbyGreenhill I understand and this is exactly the same problem of my husband, he needs a deep cleaning every 3 months. I am more lucky.

So far so good and it's pouring rain and it's fine! I worried about how it would react during heavy rain.

@AbbyGreenhill I am so glad to hear you cancelled that Verizon and that $400 a month bill so they didn't check out why it was so high or did they? Hope you have better service and money left over every month for other things.

The price went up because they upgraded towers and my speed increased...so the slower you go the less you pay - makes no sense at all.

The woman I spoke with today to call kept trying to ask me a bunch of questions - I said I just want to be done with it, I'm not answering questions.

It was outrageous at $195. I guess I should have switched before this, but I had concerns using satellite internet.

@AbbyGreenhill I do understand the financial reason, but every time we had a wind-storm we lost connection and Huges wouldn't send anyone but the local contractor who set the system up who took it as an affront that we were complaining about his work.

Well, it's either this or continue paying $400 a month for Verizon...I'm willing to try - and so far it is working just fine.
