Couldn't Get the Car in the Driveway

It took my son an hour to get home from work. He got stuck three times, and couldn't get the car in the driveway. It's half in the street. He thinks the city will give me a ticket. I hope not. I hope they notice the attempt to get it in the driveway. I went out to help shovel with my son, must be at least a foot of heavy wet snow. We didn't do too much. It's too hard to shovel this time of night. I'm hoping my neighbor who usually snow blows the sidewalk can do the driveway in the morning so we can get the car in. I'm just glad my son got home. It looks like a blizzard. I hope if you're in this storm you are all safe inside. Thanks for reading.

Hope your neighbor comes by and blows your driveway for you. Sounds like a lot of snow to have to move by hand. Be careful out there

@just4him My snow blower won't touch the wet stuff, it jams every 30 seconds then you spend 10 minutes clearing it all out.

I went out first thing this morning. Not much is moving. My neighbor hasn't been out yet, and barely any traffic. I got a little more shoveled, but it's wet and heavy. As soon as I hear him with the snow blower, I'll go out and talk to him. The good thing, no ticket.

@pgiblett Sounds like you need a better or new snow blower.

Yes, that was a blessing. Now the work of getting the snow taken care of begins.

@salonga There was. My neighbor used his snow blower to get the car dug out and it is in the driveway where it belongs.

Yes, that was awesome. I was prepared to pay him, but all he said was Merry Christmas. Good neighbors are hard to find.

@just4him ...Yes, they are. There is a show on ID about psycho neighbors. Your neighbor is just the opposite.

@celticeagle I think the psycho lives on the other side of me

That wet snow is always the worst because it is so heavy.

@just4him Our First Nation peoples have about 10 separate words for snow, each describes different characteristics of the snow seen every winter.

@pgiblett I've heard something similar to that regarding the word 'cold'.

@Jessicalynnt The car wouldn't have made it, not with it as heavy and wet as it was.

Could be or they knew people would have trouble getting around until the plows went through. Thankfully they hadn't yet or it would have been impossible to even get partway into the driveway.

Yes, the car is back in the driveway where it belongs. The neighbor helped and a few guys came and helped push the car out so he could get it in. Lots of packed snow underneath.

Y ou will be lucky if the snowplow drivers don't decide to bury your car in snow,. They usually do thaT if the car is sticking out into the street.

It looks like they've made one pass, it's not too bad at the moment, but yes, it could get worse once the roads start to open up and the plows get through.

I know how hard it is to shovel wet snow and the night is too cold to do this task.

It was difficult and still is. At least for the moment the snow has stopped so we can start to get shoveled out.

It does sound like a big mess. How many inches did you get? I wish we had a little bit of that snow.

I've been trying to find totals, but haven't seen any yet. It looks like a good foot out there.
