Driveway Cleared

I went out as soon as I heard the snow blower and asked him if he would help us out so we could get the car in the driveway. He did it, and though I offered to pay him, he wouldn't take anything for it.
So the car is in the driveway and everything is good. We're not going anywhere today.
My son said we got 18 inches of snow. I need to verify that total.
How are things with you and the storm?
Thanks for reading

Nonetheless 18 inches is a lot of snow, about 17.5 too much.

I verified the total and we got 13.2 inches. I couldn't deal with only half an inch of snow. When my son told me 18 inches I had a huge grin on my face and had we been outside I'm sure I would have gotten a snowball in the face.

Wow, what a storm. We have had here is a lot of rain. It did clear out for awhile this afternoon but more should move in overnight through Thursday. I wish it would turn cold and stay cold. Our daffodils are out and blooming because it has been unseasonably warm. Have a blessed evening

They're a few months too early. I'm hoping it's going to stay cold for us now too. It would be a blessing.

We did not really get much snow or even very much ice. It was still enough for some people to get themselves into trouble.

@GardenGerty to think the snow and ice is just water and causes us so much trouble.

I think they've been through once very early, but I haven't seen them since I've been up.

Cold and frigid here. Glad the snow blower was nice enough to help you out.

@just4him ...We need to think of spring and not of the outdoors if at all possible.

@celticeagle Ah, but I wait all year for winter. It's my favorite time of year, so I'll wait a couple months before I think spring.

What was it like to move from the Philippines to places where there is snow in winter? What was your first winter like?

We won't be going anywhere today. It was very nice of him and he didn't want anything for helping. It was a total blessing.

Is this an unusually snowy winter Valerie, or just business as usual? It seems I've been reading so many posts from Northern Hemisphere folks about strange weather.

Yes. We normally have snow long before now, and usually not in such huge amounts. Last year the northeast got hammered and that was unusual too. Now I guess it's our turn. Though I wonder if we're going to get much more. It's been strange weather for several months now. Especially with tornadoes that happened in Texas - that never happens this time of year.
Happy New Year.

I thought you had been there. My mistake. I know you've said you have been to a lot of places, but Switzerland wasn't your birth home. I'm so sorry I got that all wrong.
