Hope you will all be safe on this Night of Festivities, Happy New Year. I found some beliefs and traditions that are cute that I would like to share with you. 1. Eat grapes at midnight for each month of the year with a special wish for good luck. 2. Sleep with a horseshoe under your pillow on New Year's Eve for good luck all year long. 3. Wear red underwear for love, or green under wear for money, yellow for prosperity in the new year. 4. Having money in your pocket when you ring in the new year symbolizes starting the year by keeping the money flowing. 5. Kiss at midnight. This is a symbol that your affection and closeness will last all year, bringing luck to the relationship. There were more but I thought these were the ones someone might think about... I wish that I had known this earlier because it is a little late now to steal some red knickers off a washing line.

In the Philippines, we have this tradition of putting 13 round-shape fruits in the dining table. “Why 13? That’s an unlucky number?”. Well for our Chinese brothers and sisters, 13 is actually a lucky number and having round fruits signifies coins so having a lot will bring luck and prosperity this coming 2016 and every year .

@Marcyaz You're welcome. Actually, Filipinos are very tradition and culture-oriented. Though many of our beliefs and disciplines are came from those countries that invaded us in the past centuries, it still bring colors to the wonderful life of being Filipino

My nighty does not have pockets, so I am not sure how I will go to bed with money in my pocket. Wonder if raisins for the year ahead will work. I read somewhere that if you do a grape for each month and any of them are bitter be aware of the month it represents.

No sour grapes are allowed so we need to make sure they are all good. No pockets in your nightly, okay then. @GardenGerty

"Sleep with a horseshoe under your pillow on New Year's Eve for good luck all year long", OMG, I forgot to do this one, does it mean that I will have bad luck? If so, I bet I won't be the only one on this earth.

I don't have a horseshoe, and only have white underwear and have no one to kiss and if I haven't took off my pants I will have some money on me and will probably be on my knees welcoming the new year in prayer which is the best way to start.
