Surely not?
I have Huffington Post as a liked page on facebook. I just came across "Stephen Fry's Welcoming Guide to the UK. Apparently it's a promotional video for Heathrow Airport!
This was a lighthearted skit that well I found amusing. However, 90 percent of polite conversation is about the weather? This isn't the first time I've heard this said about the UK.
Actually to be quite honest, everytime I watch a vlogger who happens to be in the UK? They mention the weather atleast once in their vlog.
Not that I mind as I love a good rain shower or high winds, provided damage is minimal or non-existant.
Here's the link to what I watched.
Oh and you clap and say "hey" every time a glass is broken in a restaurant? This makes me think of wedding rituals for some odd reason.

National treasure and former 'QI' host Stephen Fry has been enlisted by the folks at Heathrow Airport to welcome foreign nationals to the UK in possibly the most British video ever. The video was c

I ask myself what will the weather be today when I wake up... since the weather changes so strangely lately! I used to just be able to wear shorts now I have to bundle up.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Lately I have been a homebody also! So many crazy drivers out there and I've been lazy to go out because it's sorta cold and the traffic!

@infatuatedbby Too many people do not care to watch what they are doing on the road anymore.
Makes me glad I don't drive.

I am so much of a homebody that I just wear whatever is comfortable. Grocery Shopping? I do after work. Other things? either not my responsibility or is bought online.

Yeah, and we don't consult a groundhog to ask what the weather is going to be either. Where is it he lives again, Gobbler's Knob?
Love the movie though with Bill Murray.

Hatley below made me realize that. I think, however, that the US is famous atleast for complaining about one season than wishing for it once another season comes!

This is very true Hatley. We do tend to talk about the weather ourselves. We like to complain that it's cold out and then come summer we want it to be winter.

I think that with the weather so much more bizarre this year we are not used to the changes and tend to mention more. And, I also think that the UK seems to think they have the weirdest weather in their local and now we are catching up with them.

I was thinking that myself, that we were catching up with them weather wise. It seems as if every part of the country is experiencing drastically different weather.@whiteream (8567)

The weather this year is really worth knowing about. It is just strange the way it is going up and down on a daily basis all over the world.

I haven't watched it yet, but weather is discussed a lot here in the UK. I haven't been in a restaurant where people clap and say "hey". I do know that "sack the juggler" is used a lot. Which tickles me, as most things do. lol
