forty minutes

I did take my walk this morning, before eating my hearty oatmeal. It was light, I went out to my yard and moved more packing containers to the house then walked in a different part of our small town. In total I was out and about for forty minutes. It is much nicer than trying to walk around in Wal Mart like I did yesterday when I went in with my husband to his work. I had to do that so I could go with my sister to her appointment with the foot doctor. Her foot is healing nicely and she is glad she had the work done. So, here I am, being accountable and trying to get started on a work at home day.

Since I have injured my knee, I am not very good with exercise, at least I walk half an hour every day.

I hope it is okay that you are doing that with an injured knee. It sounds as if you automatically make it part of your day.

@GardenGerty My doctor told me to walk, not running or jogging, simple walking for no more than half an hour.

Good for you for taking your walk. I couldn't walk today as I have been sick and just able to come here.

Good for you. I take it it's also nice enough outside to get that much walking in. I got on the treadmill last night and might do so tonight, but as I will be at church tonight with kids, it might not be necessary to do that. I might get plenty of exercise at church.

It sounds like you will get your exercise at church. Yes, in the afternoon it was actually in the fifties.

@GardenGerty oh that sounds yummy. I usually do the raisins. Sometimes I am bad and do cinnamon sugar. I need to stop doing that. Maybe just the cinnamon will be ok

I can't say that Walmart would be top of my list for great walking routes.

Since we do not have a mall, Wal Mart is the next best place to walk indoors.

I try to walk or ride my bike every day. It depends how hot or windy it is. I also clean a bit every day, so it doesn't overwhelm me. Have a great day!

While walking in a mall or whatever is better than nothing, getting outside would be better again.

The terrain outdoors at my home also gives me a workout because it has lots of hills. It is a more challenging walk. The fresh air is great as well.

I wish I had a place to walk around. Can't do it in this neighborhood. The cars speed down the road way too fast. I fear getting struck.

@GardenGerty Uneven pavement, hairs in the carpet, patterns on flooring, I trip on everything.

This little old town is quiet, but the paving is not real smooth. My largest danger is twisting my ankle and falling.

You do seem to get the room mates who need extra assistance. They need to pair you up with someone else who would walk with you.

If you swing your hands while walking, you will get a very good workout when you walk. I read that the best place to walk is the beach. The sand makes the walk challenging, and it is good for us to walk barefoot.

I think I would like Nordic walking poles. Yes, swinging the arms is great. I do not have a nearby sandy beach, but perhaps I can find a play ground or park with sand.

Some people have difficulty walking. I did until I got some work done on my foot and it helped my knee and hip. I used to limp badly but most of the time now I do not.
