~That Thing Better Not Be In My House!~

I was on FB so I could approve some posts on my babysitting site. I approved what I needed to and then went scrolling for a little bit. I saw a post that kind of annoyed me while looking. There was a post of a girl holding a dog. She said the dog was lost and their looking for it's owner. Her husband comments with "That thing better not be in my house!" I thought to myself-what a heartless thing to say about a poor lost dog. She answered with it's not in our home-it's at my job. I just thought it was not a nice thing to say at all, kind of spoke volumes about him in my opinion. I was hoping he was joking but there was no Lol or Haha and his wife seemed offended by the way she responded back to him too...

It's amazing what you can tell about people from just a comment - and also by the way they treat animals.

@JudyEv Yup! People should be careful what they say when the whole world is watching. Most people don't think about that though.

I saw photos recently on lamp-posts and in shop windows of a cat - the owners had lost him and they were asking if anyone might have seen him, but the photo was hideous - the cat looked evil, possibly even possessed - I couldn't help thinking they ought to be glad if they never saw it again but it was probably just a bad photo

@arthurchappell I am not a big cat person myself but I would definitely still help one if it needed me to. I hope it was a bad photo-Lol. Cats are not very nice from my experience so I definitely wouldn't want one that looked evil!

Not nice thing to say as the poor dog needs a home and luckily won't go to his home.

I can understand, some people just don't care for all animals, I have a friend that thinks she can help all of them. It does sound mean, but who knows if they have a lot of dogs at home or a house full of pets already? My friends husband, would not allow her to have a pet she took in he wants the home spotless and she does it, she puts up with a lot, but her choice .

@CookieMonster46 I am not a big cat person but I would never say something like that if my husband brought one home that was lost. I would still help the cat whether I like them or not, anyone who cares would.

@LovingMyBabies here we have a place called fix our ferrals, a sick cat showed up here one day, we tried to feed it, but he was not doing good we called the, they took the cat in , but he was dying had to be put to sleep. I had two stray dogs show up here, I fed them, one stayed here but took over the porch. Can't bring it in , I have a dog and cats in here. So they came took him to the pet feed store, the owner there adopted him. No micro chip. So someone will foster them out if no owns. We get a lot of pets just dumped here in the neighborhood.

Too many people write things on Facebook that they would never normally say. Judging people on one comment is also unwise. What about.....the rest of the story. I can take almost anything and isolate one detail to make it sound sordid, cruel, unkind......

@MorleyHunt That was the whole story-they didn't say anything else. Maybe because the world sees what we write on there we should be careful with how things come across to others.
