Blew up my breakfast

What is it about cream of wheat and the microwave that always causes the food to explode on nuking? I have the worst time with this one. I was looking for something I could take and prep at work for breakfast, as I am out of protein bars. Cream of wheat is somewhat ok, and it's super cheap since you use so little. A bowl is like three table spoons of the base +some water. I like to add a bit of milk, some cinnamon, that kind of thing. I do hope my remaining third of a bowl, that stayed in the bowl fills me up. The rest I cleaned up out of the break room microwave. I hope this is also not a portent to how the rest of my day is going to go!

I only do oatmeal in the microwave. I don't think I've had cream of wheat since I was a kid, I might have to but some now...for old times sake.

it's kinda tasty, but maybe I should stick to oatmeal, if there is less chance of it blowing up lol.

It may be better to get the one that you just add hot water to and stir. I am not a fan of microwave cooking.

I do not exactly know what cream of wheat is, I think I never had cream of wheat. I eat oatmeal, but I never put in the microwave, I prefer to use the old fashioned stove.

I didn't know that cream of wheat caused microwaves to explode. I've never owned a microwave, and probably never will.

Oh no! Too much water, maybe? You need one of those microwave splatter covers for your food.

I had that happen to oatmeal in the breakroom at work one day. What a mess. I hope what's left is enough to fill you so you can do your work.

I guess it is the grains that are exploding but I wouldn't have any idea really.
