Chili and Frosty

Yep, that describes our weather all right.
It also describes what I ate at Wendy's last night.
They have a chili hot seasoning packet you can add to your bowl or cup of chili. It takes the chili from bland to delicious.
I also had a small vanilla frosty.
It was a delicious quick meal. We had gone to one of the Wal Mart stores that is closing. Except for certain categories everything in the store was 25% off.
I got extra veggies, both canned and frozen. Frozen shrimp, and salmon. We got some cheese.
There really is not a whole lot we need. The store will close January 28. Hubby says management probably was informed last week.
Many are in shock.
A lot of these little stores are brand new. It is a chilly and frosty way to treat people, some of whom left other jobs or moved to work in this store.

My husband is the chili lover...chilly is the word of the day here....wrong, down right cold are the words.

When I first heard about your Walmart I was thinking of our Asda here which is part of Walmart and very popular here in the UK and then last Night on the News I heard that Asda will be cutting Staff and that too which is so strange as it is one of the most popular Supermarkets here in the UK .............I always do my main shop there

Are they closing any of the stores there? What they are closing amounts to about 1% of their businesses.

They also closed our Neighborhood market here on the 28th as well. The building is maybe 3 years old. It was build on an old Walmart after they moved and built the new super center on the other end of town. I hate going to the other end of town for the few things I only buy from walmart it's not convienant to me. So unless I have a list I shop at somewhere closer if it's only for a few things. I am also sad because I could always find mark downs on meat and dairy which really helped to stretch our dollars.

Are the neighborhood market's the ones that are closing or are they the bigger ones?

They said they are closing all of the "Express Markets" which my husband says are smaller than neighborhood markets.Looking at the lists though it seems to be all neighborhood markets too. The one we visited last night has only been open about a year. On the list for Kansas are at least three full sized SuperCenters as well as the neighborhood markets. He checked the whole list and says that there are also Sam's Clubs that are closing.

We are in the 40's here in Oregon, and we are going to warm up come next week into the 50's. We are having mild weather for at least the next 15 days, and I can certainly handle that. It is rainy too, and I wish it would stop, as we are really soaked, and it won't dry out. We did have a couple of sunny days, which was great, and I wish we would get them again. It looks like lots of rain coming yet, for the next 15 days. Grrrr.

It was a shock to hear they were closing so many stores. I'm not a fan of Walmart for several reasons.

I know Wend's chilli is most likely made from leftover hamburgers, but it sure is yummy!
I do feel sorry for all the Walmart employees who are losing their jobs, though. It's a tough job market right now.

t has been very chilly and frosty here too. I won't be getting the mail today because it will be only 30 degrees when I usually go.
