$15 Burger Deal for Two, Not really $15 though.

For dinner, my boyfriend and I dined at one of our favorite Burger spots, Red Robin Gourmet Burgers and Brew. I typically order from the Gourmet Burger list while my boyfriend orders from the Red Robin's Finest, but there was an awesome limited time promotion for $15 Burger Deal for Two. We went with the limited time promotion but our check turned out to be $25 (not including tip instead). Reason being this $15 Burger Deal for Two came out to be $25 Burger Deal for Two: - We upgraded our appetizer from half order to a full order of boneless wings, only $2 more! - We upgraded regular fries to garlic fries, only .99 cents more! - Thirsty, so I had a Freckled Lemonade and honestly the lemonade was very diluted ($4.49, eek!) Regardless, if you were going in for just $15 Burger Deal for Two and not be tempted to upgrade or order drinks you'd save a lot more. What you get for the price? - Chose of 2 kinds of burgers ranging from $7 to $8.50, so just eating the burgers alone you're getting worth $15 already - Appetizers or Dessert all range from $5 to $7, so essentially you're getting a free appetizer or dessert. What we ordered? - Pig Out Style Burger, essentially a bacon lovers dream, hardwood smoked bacon with creamy bacon crumble aioli, american cheese and double patty! - Red's Bold Boneless Wings Full Order (Half order of the Banzai and half order of the Whiskey River BBQ) Overall: I am easily tempted in these limited time offer promotions when I do know, I will be spending more! However, food was tasty! And since I am a Red Robin Royalty Member (free to join!) - I also reached the Buy 9 Burgers, get the 10th free... so next time, when my boyfriend/I make a visit one of our burgers will be free (up to like $12 value)! Yay! Are you easily lured into promotions like this? Do you usually get tempted to take advantage of the deals or do you simply ignore the promotions? (Photo Credit)

Red Robin is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to sit down and have a meal with the kids. The service at the local one has always been great. My husband and I are planning to sneak over there to have lunch on Friday, even though we just ate there a few days ago. I'm kind of sad that their deals are usually for the burgers--I had the Insane Romaine salad last time, and it was kind of ridiculously good. I'm going to be grilling lettuce this summer for sure!

Oh yes! Red Robins is one of our favorites also! I also like the soups and wraps too! They should offer other discounts and deals for the rest of their foods as well. Did you join up to be their loyalty program? You'll get all sorts of discounts!

Yes, same here but I'm easily lured into upgrade for extra, substitute for extra, drinks and the bill adds up. But utlimately over all still saving money so that's great!

We used to go there because my grandson enjoyed seeing the bird. He has out grown it now. I got their salmon bites and I don't think they even have it on their menu anymore.

Oh bummer! I hate when they have commercials for places not nearby.

There is a couple of Red Robins in the area where I live but I have never eaten at one. The drinks and sides will get you every time. When I come across a good deal I'll order it to go and come home to eat it. That way I can drink whatever I have at home and save that cost. I'm also very careful not to order any sides. That way I get the item(s) for the coupon price plus tax.

That is a great idea, ordering to-go! Sometimes these offers aren't allowed to-go, but if they are I will keep that in mind!!

@RichardMeister Yes the drinks definitely get you! That's why when we go out to eat my boyfriend and I share drinks to save the cost. The restaurants are smart because they know people have to drink while they eat plus occasionally want other options (appetizers, salads or dessert). I try to bring food home as much as possible too! Just like Buca di Beppo, for tonight my boyfriend and I will be ordering food there. We have a spend $30, get $15 off! It's valid on dine in and to go which is great!

@infatuatedbby Close to where I live there are fast food restaurants called Zips. They have coupons quit often. So most of the time I go and get the food to go and bring it home. I know one of the reason they offer deals is to get you to buy drinks and sides. That's where they make the money. Did you know that a $2 soft drink only costs the restaurant about thirty cents? That's why many offer free refills. You'd have to drink almost 7 glasses of the soft drink to get it at thirty cents a glass. Soups, salads and desserts are other big money makers for restaurants.

You need to really watch those! They get you in, and then you don't realize they charge extra for everything. I went to Swiss chalet with a friend not thinking I said I'd try the sweet potato fries is was $2.50 extra.

I love Red Robin especially their blue cheese burger. Drinks can easily jack up the price since they charge so much for a glass of soda or ice tea

Blue cheese is yummy! And yes the drinks are so pricey! Usually boyfriend and I share! If both of us got lemonade it'd be an easy $9 (which is like a price of the burger , appetizer, or even dessert)!

I'm not lured into such gimmicks because you can find food in my country at $2.50 for a full meal. I'm kind of frugal so...I simply refuse to burn my pocket for that.
