So I was watching today's premier sporting event. That's right, the US Figure Skating Championships. Today was the pair's final and the ice dancing final, and they also showed the lady's short program. Polina Edmunds, who was second in 2014 and went to the Olympics, had an awesome skate, which put her solidly in 1st, ahead of Gracie Gold, Ashley Wagner and Tyler Pierce, who were in a virtual tie for second. In pairs, the surprise winners of the short program, Kayne and O'Shea, also skated an awesome free skate, to beat their personal best by 20 points, and upset the defending champions, Scimeca and Knierim. In ice dancing, the Shibutanis and the defending champs, Chock and Bates, both skated really well, but the Shibs ended up winning their first championship. The photo is from 2012 Nationals. Cannot wait for the ladies' and men's final tonight and tomorrow. Any skating fans here?

I didn't actually see it, but it was all over FB about what went on. Rudy is her choreographer, so there were a lot of congratulatory posts for him. I heard icenetwork was making everyone nuts - it kept pausing I guess. I need to catch up on this stuff - and I'm hankering to get on the ice myself!!

@much2say Lot of people out for injuries, don't know details on it though.

@dawnald I heard that - but I also heard about some of the bad, bad injuries that have been going on. It's a rough sport - especially with everyone attempting such difficult jumps!!!
