Almost forgot to finish my laptop

Naughty laptop

Earlier this year I decided to reformat my laptop and reload all the programs. I made quite good progress with this and ended up with just a few items to install and a few adjustments to make by the end of the day. At this point I left it until the following day. I totally forgot about this until earlier today. While printing a few documents for holiday and filing them in my briefcase I was reminded that my laptop had not been completed. The connection that reminded me was that my laptop is also carried in my briefcase. It only took an hour to complete the setup, so now it is ready to be packed away for my forthcoming holiday.

I am glad you noticed in time to have your laptop ready for your trip. When are you leaving Barry?

I fly to Turkey on Tuesday morning. All that was required was to install Aimersoft Video Converter, set up my emails and configure the start page. I would have been able to set up the emails while away because I know all the settings, but it is preferable to be ready in advance.

@LadyDuck I hope that it stays that way on Wednesday as well.

@Asylum I agree, I prefer to have everything ready before leaving. At home I can always find what I need to fix problems. It seems that the weather in Turkey will be sunny and beautiful next Tuesday.

It may only take an hour, but they are normally frustrating when you delay them.

It was a fairly straight forward process, but it is better to be prepared before travelling.

I frequently interrupt myself or get interrupted. I am glad you are all set up for your holiday.

We all have a habit of that to some degree.

When exactly are you leaving. I like to track your trip. I am settled in and won't be moving for a month or more.

I shall be flying from Manchester on Tuesday morning. It is only for a week, but I shall be looking for a decent holiday shortly afterwards.

Love the graphic. But I never have this feeling myself. What sometimes comes to me, however, is a vision of throwing it through a window.

Throwing it through a window would constitute defeat, whereas the image I have used is simply a last resort to solving a computer problem.

@ElizabethWallace It always worked well with televisions, so the habit continued afterwards.

@Asylum It reminds me of how people first reacted to copy machines when they refused to work. Kicking seemed effective.

glad you got it sorted out in time - flying off without it would have been a bit of a downer

I would have coped fine as it was and could have set the emails from memory, but I prefer to be ready in advance.

Enjoy your holiday. With computers I tend to be overanxious; in fact, more than about my own health! siva

Due to having a laptop and a desktop, there is never any real urgency for me to fulfil such tasks. Instead I prefer to take my time and be more pedantic about the actual process.
