Finally, a day that I love - National Chocolate Cake Day!
I have no clue who invents these 'national' days but when it comes to chocolate cake - who cares! Us chocolate cake lovers should be in heaven today.
I really wish I had know about this sooner. Right now I have a home made apple pie on the counter so that sorta puts a damper on making a chocolate cake today. So if no one minds (I don't want to hear it if you do mind!) I'll be celebrating the day over the weekend instead.
For right now I'll just drool all over the photo I have chosen!
Will you be indulging in a slice or two to celebrate National Chocolate Cake Day?

Why could you not post this information earlier? I have been into the city centre and am now back home again, without any chocolate cake. Oh well, I suppose I can always have a two day belated chocolate cake event to make up for it. In fact, I fly to Turkey next Tuesday, so maybe I should celebrate a chocolate cake week in Turkey.

There are so many national holidays! I wanted to write about one each day since it's so amusing but I lost track and became lazy. 
Yesterday, was National Spouse Day, I believe.
And, I guess I celebrated National Chocolate Cake "but I had Cupcake" yesterday for a dessert. Happy celebrating this holiday over the weekend. Apple pie sounds delicious though!

I love chocolates, but the bitter/dark one because am afraid of too much sugar in some chocolates. Glad to know there is such a day for chocolate cakes.

I might have to postpone my chocolate cake celebrating until the weekend too. I don't have any cake (chocolate or otherwise) in the house and still have to do some grocery shopping.

And you probably can't get to the store today if you wanted to. I do have a mix in the pantry but I can't let my pie go to waste since it will go to MY WASTE anyway.

@AbbyGreenhill you caught me. I wasn't home when I had that big idea. I was checking in at the library after walking with my walking group. Then I did errands including a mystery shop and now that I am home and helped make supper. The dishes are waiting, my report is waiting and a good show is on at 7 that we like to watch together. So, hmm - will there be cake?

@AbbyGreenhill I found a chocolate cake in a mug recipe and made two mugs of cake in the microwave. Hubby poured the Port and we celebrated national chocolate cake day in style. So I made it!

If it's National Chocolate Day in the US it doesn't apply to us in the UK. Unless of course we just make it so. Other people are always quick to tell us it's National Whatsit Day, so why not us.
The homemade apple pie sounds delicious to me too. Do you put some cinnamon in your apple pie? I love it with cinnamon. mmmmmm

Since we used to 'belong' to you I think you can enjoy chocolate cake today.
Pie has cinnamon and nutmeg (and of course sugar) This time I put extra cinnamon - I accidentally put even more than I planned on - so you would love it.

I had to go look to see if hubby ate all that chocolate cake we bought the other day. So yes I will be indulging in a slice of chocolate cake yummy.
