What do the most successful MyLotters earn?

Hey there everyone... I'm curious to know what kind of results the most active people on MyLot are seeing. I'm pretty new here and wondering if I should make this my main social blogging site. @bagarad mentioned BlogJob on her personal blog - actually I need to go skim that post again. It looks like an interesting platform. She also just mentioned in a comment that Persona Paper is closing down. Glad I didn't put any effort into that site. I actually just applied yesterday :). I had heard about Squidoo back in 2010, I think, but I never did anything with it. I also heard about Bubblews (always thought that was a weird name, btw) a year or so ago. It wasn't until I started brushing shoulders with @bagarad that I realized there was this whole culture of people on these social blogging sites. I have a personal blog and an email list that I write regularly to (as well as writing for clients, etc.) so I'm doing a lot of writing. I like the idea that I can just pop into a site like this and ramble a bit about things that I wouldn't normally put anywhere else. It gets the juices flowing for the other stuff I have to do. Getting compensated is a nice bonus :). So... Can you tell me about your experience as far as the money goes? Are there any standout stories that seasoned MyLotters all know about but newbies like me wouldn't? Feel free to just send me to a blog post (or another MyLot post) if you'd rather save your breath. Do some of you bounce between a few sites like this? Which ones? I'd love to know about your experience. I do understand that it's not all about the money. The social aspect is what keeps these places thriving. But, it is something I'm curious about and I haven't been able to find a good explanation yet. Thanks in advance and looking forward to meeting you all!

Gabe, I've never really tried to make money here. This has always been playtime for me with the added bonus of earnings occasionally. From past experience though, I'd say you'd be one of the people who has the potential for being one of the higher earners here if you spent a fair amount of time at it. That's because you know how to start good discussions that will get people interacting with you a lot. Build up your followers. Check the list of people I'm following. Most of them are very good if they are still here or have returned. Some left when site ownership changed in 2013 and the new owners stopped paying about the time Bubblews folded and everyone migrated there. Many have already returned but people are still dribbling back. Just check profiles to see if there is recent activity. Meanwhile, you might start with @ThankyouLord @JudyEv @owlwings and @mysdianait -- all people you don't want to miss. @owlwings and @mysdianait are veterans who know all there is to know about this place. Also follow the people who have responded below if you haven't yet. They interact a lot here.

Thanks for the encouragement :). I'm always curious about ways to make extra cash - This interests me because it genuinely seems easy and enjoyable. Probably a good idea to make a commitment to it for a month - be consistent - and then I'll be able to get a better feel for what it takes... and also do a proper review on my main blog. Thanks very much for the list of people. I'll be checking them out!

I doubt many are getting more than $30 per month and to get that they'd have to be very very successful. From what I've read many make payout each month and some do double that but not significantly more. Personally I'm not massively active but think judging purely from what I've made so far I could relatively easily make payout every other month and with more effort every month. Everyone earns differently here as it relates to how your posts are interacted with so I doubt what anyone says will be of that much use to you. Best thing to do is be as active as you can here, learn the guidelines, get a nice follow/following list and judge for yourself in a month or so.

@JolietJake that's good going and I doubt many have reached that and certainly few will have exceeded it. I think I've more time to spend here than the majority of members and if I was very active I estimate (from what I've done so far) I'd make $20 in a month. I could possibly exceed your $32 but i'd have to work either very hard or very smart and I'm not doing either currently

@Mike197602 Great to hear about both of your experiences here. That's good advice to give it a month... I can learn a lot by looking at both you and @JolietJake 's profiles to see how much posting and commenting you do. Good to connect - I expect we'll be seeing more of each other...

I think you have to comment on everything, like everything, have tags on everything, suggest everything and discuss everything.

@ko31024 You will never make even the basic redemption limit if you keep posting lots of discussions and don't comment on the responses you get and on other people's posts. You've been here a long time to have only (234) next to your name. Posting discussions isn't enough - you have to interact.

I guess the only comment I'd make is that you don't necessarily need to write heaps of posts (discussions) but you do need to interact a lot. I don't mind the money but mostly I enjoy talking to people and sharing stories.

@gabeturner I feel invisible on Facebook on my personal account. I never know if it's that no one cares or is interested or that Facebook didn't choose to show my friends my posts. I spend most Facebook time with my groups. The conversations tend to be much deeper here.

@gabeturner @bagarad I don't use FB although my husband belongs to several groups and enjoys it. I can't stand it when people get so rude and personal on there.

That seems to be the consensus :). It's nice to find a place where people actually respond and real conversations start to happen. Funny... If I post something on facebook, most of the friends I've had for years won't bother to write anything. Could be because they don't see it... but also because that's just not the culture over there.

I earned here during the old mylot, and I have arned a few times since being back . It does take a lot of effort on myu part to earn anything at all, and like others have said, ti takes a lot of interacting back and forth to make anything at all. If I didn't interact at all, I wouldn't earn anything. Now, some don't interact like they should, but in time I hope they will. Others interact alot in here, so with those, it is easy to earn from. I am hopikg to earn every month this year, and if I don't then I will always have the next month to earn.

Hello previously tried many of the things listed above in your post but to tell you everything and just to one having free time writing and doing. Then I started working and let these things just so. Now when I realized that mulot otnomo pay again I started writing here.  and say many are happy about it. But where you can win more, and I do not know but you should definitely have a lot of time to win more. I wish you success recordings where every day in how you write and you will see. But a month I think about $ 20 you can do here!

My best month here was last month and I earned a little over $20. It really all depends on how active you are and how much time you have to invest in the site. But it is fun being here so minutes can quickly turn into hours if your not careful!

i reckon yer jest lookin' fer funds? these sort'a places aint fer earnin' $$, 'tis more 'bout interactin' with others. gettin' that 'global 'xperience'. sure, the lil bit'f funds one can cabbage onto here's kind'a nice, but that ought not be the point. find folks ya enjoy readin' 'n interactin' with 'n jest've yerself some fun.

It seems to me that it is a function of exposure and interaction. Interaction you can control, exposure seems to be more in tune with the topics you post about. Also using the tags seems to help more people see your writing. I migrated from Bubblews and I often search the term to see if I can see any of the old crowd so tags do lead me around. I use the explore icon to find new and interesting posts. Like any venture, what you get out here seems to be in direct proportion to what you put in.

I joined Mylot 3 months ago, and I don't really work here because it will be disappointing if you put many hopes in one thing, just comment when I like, browsing around Mylot. Sometimes, suddenly I find great posts and commenting. That's it. Almost like depends on mood
