Gravitating Towards the Core, Spirit, Soul of Online Sites

I am one of those who like to put my heart and soul into my passion and for me it is understanding life in general. I have been keen to learn where we come from, how we connect, and also why we cannot coexist to an extent we kill each other for our beliefs. I have been fortunate that my quest in this direction got a fillip after I started interacting at online sites.
Members are at the core of online sites though there are Guidelines/ Terms of Use that sets the framework within which we operate. But dig the surface we begin to get to the core, even the spirit and soul. I believe they exist, some way, even in inanimate objects we create. They seem to acquire a life of their own.
I recall an acquaintance of mine who liked to tell even strangers “enjoy”. He was an African American and in a busy city where I live people, sometimes, did not know how to react to his greetings. I was always happy to see him. He would tell me “tough times but just enjoy”.
Though I saw him for only few years he comes alive in my memory when I log in here! The core, spirit, and soul of this site are to “enjoy” resonating with William’s words. Enjoy the camaraderie no holds barred and forget the pressures of life that I believe are mostly in our minds. I find a via media for balancing my life through compromises, between increasing my income and reducing expenses, give and take in relationships, when intentions are good forget minor aberrations. Let us be an extended family and just “enjoy” and that is what this site is about.
Do you agree, how do you view MyLot?

I've come to the point that I feel like I really 'know' some of the myLotters and hopefully they know me.

I do see the site as a family...but families argue sometimes
It's how you deal with those arguments that defines you.

Oh, we are indeed kindred souls and I believe we are destined to meet again and again! I so enjoy reading yours and will go back to your earlier posts over time. Like on sites here, the core within us remains the same but names may change and even our images! siva

"fillip"
"something which acts as a stimulus or boost to an activity."
Yes, we can learn a lot both from the writing and the interactions.
I thought that word was a typo, but well, now I know another new word!!
You certainly come with such a fill-up, if I can use the word I thought that you meant, LOL.
You bring a breath of fresh air, and new energy to every site that you write on.
Kudo's to you siva,
I believe your understanding probably grows more from every interaction too, and you certainly took something from your friend too. You, "enjoy"!!

@Shiva49 You go further back than me.
I do have memories of listening to my old crystal set with an ear piece that could pick up radio waves just by being attached to the iron bed-frame of my bed though. No batteries were ever needed!
I listened to our own form of football on it, AFL rules.
This unique game has largely been killed off here in Australia these days too though.
The over-commercialisation has destroyed it for one thing, but also the skill levels have actually declined too.
They sped up the game, and lost all of the uniqueness of the game.
Now there is only one type of kick used, the drop punt, they call it. Beforehand, there were many other types of kicking of the ball, methods that involved great skill, but nobody can kick in these ways, these days.

Thanks Steve, as usual you are very generous with your encouragement and support. I wish I could emulate you in this aspect! I recall your pointing out a mistake in my spelling "count" but I did not want to edit it as I was worried about losing the many comments!
I learned English at school in India and some words could well be archaic. Older Indians have a nostalgia for them and some words are no longer used even by English speaking people. Indian legal documents have words that could well be from an earlier era and they do not make much sense to laymen!
I honed my skills in English by listening to Cricket and Tennis commentaries before the TV era . I loved to listen to John Arlott, Brian Johnston on BBC, Alan McGilvray and Richie Benaud on ABC and Charles Fortune from South Africa. In Tennis, it was Dan Maskell and Max Roberston on BBC. Well, all have passed on, but dearly remembered for the immense joy they gave me as I strained to listen on my old radio and once got an electric shock that almost did me in when the reception was poor!
I try to understand even the emotions behind the posts and the responses as everyone is different and no one sounds the same all the time! That is diversity in full flow. So let us just "enjoy" every moment - siva

@innertalks That old radio is gone for over thirty years. Its back had a gaping hole and the aftereffects of the stunning electric shock that almost knocked me out left me shaking for an hour!
Richie had a unique style and he was from the TV era but others I started listening to from 1963 were radio commentators. Frankly, I cannot reconcile with the present lot as they are more of marketing products! siva

If it is just money our time here is not worth it. I have worked all my life and want to enjoy the companionship without having to physically move around. Sites like these have helped me to understand people and how the 99% have similar yearnings and how the 1% want to rock the boat! We enjoy the moments and feel blessed - siva

As a kid I always dreamed of having penfriends but did not meet with much success. And here I am with a 'bumper' of friends to pick and choose from all over the globe. That is my definition of myLot.

@Shiva49 There is not much of a difference and this is evident by how we interact with each other with such ease.

Yes, we are spoilt for choice here and "my cup runneth over"! I was touched when few already here welcomed me as the lost one - those who knew me from other sites!
I always state we are one and the same despite efforts made to drive a wedge on many fronts - siva

any social network site is only as good as the members it attracts - we are the atoms and building blocks and fortunately we come together well on Mylot

MyLot is like a reunion place for me. I have been on many different writing sites over the years. It seems like Mylot has brought them all together. I like getting to know, some of my favorite writers on a different level here.

I like to adapt to different sites. MyLot has its own charisma, characteristics, that I can relate to. No need for elaborate detailing of topics but sometimes few lines are enough to convey our message forcefully across, sort of resonating with the expression - brevity is the soul of wit. And we can interact to our hearts content and earn too in the bargain! siva
