CHANGING LANES & turns out the lane is going slower than the lane you were in!

Have you ever changed lanes and found that your original lane was faster? But, if you don't change lanes - you see that lane you wanted to change into is going faster. Same with standing in line at the store. You picked a line, wanted to change because it was taking longer than usual, so you wait. But, you could have changed lines and be done! Vice Versa. But if you happen to change lanes OR change lines and it works out as in you beat the traffic or finish checking out faster, you feel accomplished!? Well, I don't know about you! But I totally get upset when I am playing the "Should I or Should I not" game when it comes to changing lanes or standing in line. Well, this scenario happened to me today! I was at the grocery store and the line I stood in had 2 people ahead, where the line on my right had 3 people. Something was going on with the lady in front (paying check) and she needed further assistance. I didn't think it would be too long so I waited. Waited... The cashier to my right was on the 2nd person, and I thought since the manager was already assisting the cashier it would be done soon. Nope. In conclusion, I just waited and wasted a little extra time. Luckily I wasn't in a rush or anything ~ but there are moments where I want to change lanes. And, if I do change lanes and it takes longer, I would feel stupid! In this case, I could of changed lanes and be out the door! These scenarios ever happen to you too?

I am so glad I don't drive any more. I just found out not too long ago that you have to change lanes out on the freeways when you see a cop stopped on the side of the road. You can't just drive by on the say side of the road. I didn't know that.

@infatuatedbby ...Not sure if it is just in Idaho or what. Should be all over with the several officers being injured.

Yeah, we all make our assessment and mental note. I do so at airports as some immigration officers take more time than others, so I even have switched to a longer queue and came out faster! siva

I tend to stay in the same lane if I can. Usually every one else is going to be changing lanes as well. If I know I will be the next person than I will change lanes but otherwise? nope.

When I am personally driving myself, I too don't like to change lanes. I find myself in the slow lane generally too because I find that people always hop out of the lane and go toward the faster than. Or I go the next closest to the slow lane. But when someone else is driving and they like to change lanes! I'd be a tad upset if they changed lanes and nothing was wrong with their original lane! And every time I'm right - I would be like, see what was wrong with your original lane?!

This happens to me all the time, no matter if it is at the supermarket cashier or while driving the car. Murphy law I suspect.

Of course, these things happen to everyone! You do realize why that happens though, right? LOL! I normally just laugh about it and go on my way... No reason to treat it like it is a big deal!
