In a surprise move this morning, the National Football League make the startling announcement that the 50th Super Bowl would be the last.
An unnamed source said "We made a killing monetarily. Probably close to a Gazillion dollars after ticket sales, merchandising, advertising, and a lot of other stuff. However, in a post-game meeting, we decided that money would have been better off spent on taking care of the hungry and homeless, so we decided from now on, we would have the two conference champs hold a telethon aimed at collecting money for the poor and needy instead of playing a game."
Immediately following the announcement, the CEO of the NFL was assassinated while walking across the parking lot to his car.
It has not been determined yet if the plan will still go into effect.
109.9 - FM WEED will bring you further updates on this story as it develops.

Satan Claus...oops, misspelled that...Santa Claus has a contract with WalMart to do Christmas for the next 200 years or so, so no worries there. As for Hallowe'en, we HAVE to have it, it's the only day I get to scare the crap out of the kids and no one can yell at me for it.

The announcement could have waited and dished out in doses. There may be more killings to follow.

I'm no football fan, but even I would say "Nahhhh, that's just can't be . . . !"
If they made a killing (which I'm sure they did), they can't wait til they make another killing next year, the next year after that, and forever long they can keep having the Super Bowl.
It's ok with me if they get rid of the football part. Just gimme my national athem, silly commercials and the half time show!!!

It's funny when readers don't see all the hints thrown around to point out the premise of a post. Good one! How long has the WEED station been on the air do you think, or should I ask how long it's been on the pipe?

It showed up first back around 1982 or so when I was making tapes with false announcements between songs
