Are you allowing yourself a relaxing Saturday?

I'm not sure whether to describe my Saturday as relaxing, ambitious, or both. I think I'll go with both. A fella came over this morning with a pair of KLH Model 5 loudspeakers for restoration. Of course, I got right to work on them, gluing down some veneer that's peeling from the bottom.
I also have more relaxing project going on out on my balcony. I'm sanding down the wood on the case of a vintage Fisher 500C receiver that needs cosmetic restoration. Out there, I can enjoy the sunshine, the 70 degree temperatures, and the sounds of the birds letting each other know that mating season is approaching.
I have no music playing right now, but I am on my second cup of coffee, and feeling pretty relaxed. A friend is going to drop by for lunch in an hour or so. How is your Saturday going? Are you in relaxation mode, ambitious mode, or both?

I began the day by tossing a load of laundry in the wash machine. Drove about 20 miles to empty a closet, stopped to get groceries on the way home to finish up with three more loads of laundry. Now I am trying to deal with the contents of the closet.

@allknowing I see that as a good thing (as long as you get enough sleep). I like it when I wake up and have something I can't wait to do.

@Jessicalynnt Today was more relaxing for me. No laundry. No lunch with friends. Just some speaker work and a longer cycle.

It's Sunday here now and we're relaxing after a successful concert last night. We had 5 musicians stay the night and another 4 relatives stayed in tents so there were quite a few people for dinner and breakfast. No we're relaxing before starting on taking everything down.

@JudyEv What kind of music did the inconsiderate fella's band play? How do you find the people you bring in? Have you heard of The Rankin Family? They're one of my favorite Canadian bands (other than the famous ones like Gordon Lightfoot, Bruce Cockburn and The Band.

@TheHorse Yes, one guy didn't stay after we'd borrowed a caravan for him. But he bought his wife and two dogs so an extra one round the dinner table (we didn't feed the dogs
). I always sound so petty - none of it's a big deal but I wouldn't do this in their place so I find it a bit inconsiderate. The crowd loved them, the weather was good so all is well. Three weeks to the next - a group (The Once) from Canada.

I declared it a relaxing day. It's too cold to go out so I'm catching up on a weeks worth of General Hospital (my guilty pleasure). I still enjoy my soaps

I cleaned my sons' bathroom (ugh) and have done laundry all day. Not too relaxing, but fulfilling none the less.

I could say both as well. It was a lovely sunny day driving to my 6 mystery shops. I enjoyed all of the interactions and found some nice clothes (not part of the mystery shop) I came home with the groceries from the mystery shops and hubby made Reuban sandwiches and French Fries for supper.
But now I have 5 more reports to get done after this small break. bleah!

@TheHorse Yes I am a real mystery shopper. You get to do it by signing up for legitimate mystery shopping companies. There is a list on the . One signs up and then searches the job board for what interests you. It can be competitive so you could sign up and find an empty job board because the jobs are all gone. So you have to keep checking to learn what they offer and when they post it.
The pay varies. Today I was doing two gas stations and at each one getting reimbursed $14 (American) for gas, a small convenience store purchase and $8 (American) fee.
I was doing two Home centres and getting reimbursed $20 at each. At one I was getting a $5 fee and at one I was getting a $35 dollar fee. (a job that got left sitting on the job board so they bonused it)
At the two grocery stores I was getting reimbursed $20 each and a fee of $5 each. These are Canadian companies so that is Canadian funds.
I have been reimbursed for hotel rooms, hair cuts, movies, meals, oil changes etc. Some jobs just require observations and no expenditure and they generally pay about $15. But sitting down to talk with a banker can pay quite a bit more.
It can be time consuming to get started because where I live each mystery shopping company might only have one client in my area. So I have signed up with over 100 companies.
Pretty much every chain is mystery shopped at some point. At one of the gas stations I went to today, I know of another mystery shopping company that does 2 other types of mystery shops at that same gas station chain. Some of these places are mystery shopped a LOT!
There are scams and they even use the names of real companies at times.

I was pretty busy yesterday, I went shopping with hubby to buy some stuff for the bathroom he is building in the basement. I was on myLot for maybe an hour total today. Soon I am going shopping with my son to help him pick out a gift for his girlfriend for Valentines Day.

I was wishing for relaxing, but it was productive instead. I managed to get taxes done in between the catastrophes. LOL EXCITING.
(not at all)
Want me to do yours?
