Peace in a picture

A week ago Monday, my hiking buddy Michael and I went to Marin County to do a familiar loop in the hills by the ocean. I only took one picture, and my intent was to capture the peace I feel when hiking there. Mt. Diablo, my usual haunt, is beautiful in its own way, but it's a bit more rugged and doesn't have the beautiful redwood and other tall conifers that are found near the ocean in Marin. Do you have a photograph that just says "peace" to you?

That's a beautiful picture.
That's a rare sight in the city where I am right now.

@TheHorse It's nice to be able to see a place like that in person. Me, I'll have to go to a province just to enjoy that sight. So thanks for the picture. It's a really relaxing one.

This is a beautiful photo, it reminds me of a provincial park in our area that we love to visit. There is a special kind of silence when you are in a wooded area where the sunlight can not reach the ground due to the tree cover isn't there? This picture really captures that.

@Jessicalynnt Well snap. And I have miles to go before I sleep. Have to enter three progress notes.

Great photo. I have a lot of trail pics I took while mountain biking or hiking. I should take a look and see if any are as peaceful as this.

@TheHorse - I have a few cool urban ride photos of my bike that I took over the summer. Maybe I should post those for the heck of it.

Yours reminds me of the following lines
"The woods are lovely dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep
And miles to go before I sleep"
Words by Robert Frost
And here is mine -
Watching those poor kids that I had invited to a christmas party at a beach resort, . enjoyig the sea gave me immense peace

@TheHorse I have some fear of being stuck in the woods but that wont happen ever for me since I dislike camping.

You are right, pony... That is very beautiful... and very different from the picture you showed us in the locked gate thread. I like both, actually...
Yeah, but not that is on my pc. My daughter and I were hiking in the Rocky Mountains at Hoosier Pass when we came across a beautiful vista. I immediately snapped a shot of it. A little later we set up my camera to take a timed picture of the two of us in the pass... Both pictures show the fantastic scenery around us...
I think Pretty was around nine or ten years old at the time.

@TheHorse Yes, she remembers it. She kept trying to climb down to a little trickle coming out of the mountainside and I kept making her climb back up to me... I finally turned my back long enough for her to make it to the trickle and then had to climb down and get her because she couldn't reach the first (lowest) handhold.
