Have you ever petted a "Sea Cow"?

Most people know sea cows by the more familiar name of Manatees. Every season when the waters are cold further up north they come here and for the warmer waters and to mate.
Where I live our properties are surrounded by docks where people who live on boats will also come for the warmer weather and dock their boats. One of these boat owners took this video of one of the Manatees who also have the nickname of gentle beasts!
Have you ever seen or and/or petted a Sea Cow?

Go to youtube and look at all the videos they have under manatees--they are just fun to watch!

@GreatMartin I was in Florida (both coasts) last June. I was out on the water and the park ranger said they had seen some the other day. I did see some dolphins.

I've only seen manatees in Sea World in Florida and they are amazing to watch. We didn't get to pet or touch them but iI had never seen a manatee before that

I didn't know they had manatees at seaworld--that's a shame as they are gentle animals that should be allowed to roam free.

@GreatMartin Yes, you have a point. I hope my memory is not fabricating manatees at sea world! If I didn't see them there, then I've only seen them on TV!
