I think it's quite likely that this is the rule you broke:
You must not - "Post personal milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. - This is best celebrated via private messaging with your friends."
I copy/pasted that from the guidelines.
It seems a bit harsh though.

But on myLot, it is a rule that can result in deletion...on some sites, you can scream all you want to

You should know it by reading the rules/guidelines, haven't you ever read them?

This is where you will find out what kinds of behavior are accepted and unaccepted on myLot. When in doubt, remember the Golden Rule!

@JolietJake Oh, don't make me read. Just tell me.
Are we not just discussing etiquette now? Or is it the Happy Birthday post?

@paigea There's something about making posts directed towards one user or a very small group of them, that's the only reason I could think of for the second deletion.

The second deletion may have also been a technical violation, and this discussion may get deleted as well...read the guidelines and see if you can find the relevant reason...

From the Guidelines:
1) "Using all-caps, excessive punctuation, or "text speak""
2) "New discussions directed towards only one or a small group of other members - You should use private messaging to chat back and forth with your myLot friends."
3) "Posting personal milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. - This is best celebrated via private messaging with your friends."

This is where you will find out what kinds of behavior are accepted and unaccepted on myLot. When in doubt, remember the Golden Rule!

It has been a rule here since day 1. At first I was wondering why till I read it was like shouting when you write in all caps.

You did two things against the guidelines the all-caps and the birthday celebration. Here are what is said it not tolerated in the guidelines:
Using all-caps, excessive punctuation, or "text speak"
Posting personal milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
