Troubled times

Yesterday was a day of bad news. Two of my friends called to share some bad news .
One of my friends who moved to another country has had trouble settling down. Finally after two years she did and found a friend too. She was happy that she has a friend she can talk too and has been telling me so much about her for the past year. Yesterday she called to tell that her friend was admitted to the emergency unit of a hospital in her neighborhood with some vomiting, later she went into a coma and then passed on. All this happened in a few hours. She is so shocked and inconsolable as I would expect.
My other friend from high school, (we have been friends forever) called to share some really bad news. Her daughter a young girl of 23 was on a holiday in Nepal and was raped. The girl is absolutely shocked and just won't speak. My friend is in tears and terrible emotional pain.
I have been on the phone all day trying to calm them down and help them. I hardly slept a wink last night.. Both of them have been my closest friends and it hurts that they have to go through such terrible pain.
Just wanted to share my thoughts here and lighten my burden.
EDIT
I am sorry that I even wrote this post .. I cannot bring myself to respond to these comment. Kindly excuse me.

It is totally okay that you do not respond to this post. You have a lot on your mind responding to your friends and their needs. Thank you for letting us be your friend and lifting you and them up in prayer and good thoughts. It is an illustration of how you trust us.

OMG! That was a horrible and disturbing news to hear from your friend who's daughter is raped. I wish the rapist will pay his immoral sin.

I would highly suggest a counselor, someone not family for her. Family may be too immediate
