I wonder how many people dare to buy a house with a bloody past

In the world today, we read of many murders and killings. That means there must be many houses with bloody past. Would you buy a house with such history if the price is much lower than market rate? It is common for someone to die naturally at home, so that is not a concern in home purchase decision. It is a different matter when you learn that a family of four was slaughtered, and the murderer was not found. Many people still hold superstitious beliefs, even though they openly say that they are not superstitious. They rather buy market rate for a normal house than a house with unsolved murders.

Their ghost would be bothering you soon for thirst for justice that you won't have a normal life there. Better buy a house that didn't have any murder past.

haha, that is a bit dramatic. I think you have a start to a great ghost story. Not everyone thinks the same way. If the ghost is so malicious and forces the next owner to die of accident or something else, nobody will ever want to stay in that house again.

Well, personally considering I'm an Empath. Able to feel emotional energy around me. Current or residue... I doubt I could. I would feel the negative energy, emotional and even physical pain within that house constantly. It would drain my energy completely. It would bother me day and night, feeling what went on within the house.

@scheng1 Very true they do. Dogs sense a lot of things. Children do as well, because human minds are more perceptive of things at a young age. As we grow older, our perception closes gradually until it is basically in a sleep. Yet we all, are capable of reawakening that perception if we choose to.

I cannot feel the negative energy very well, though I will get a headache if I get into cemetery or places where bad things happen. i will not want to buy a house with a bloody past. i think some people bring along babies or dog for house viewing for this reason. The babies or dogs will have better sense of negative energy.

On the island where I lived before a mentally ill man killed his mother and afterwards the house was put up for sale. The house was very cheap and it was sold within a few months (it usually takes much longer to sell houses on that island) Personally I wouldn't want to live in that house, but the people who bought it didn't care about the past, they were just happy to find a cheap house.

@scheng1 Yes, they know about the murder. It is a small island and when something like that happens almost everyone knows about it, but the new owners didn't care about it.

Did they know about the bloody history? I think that is still not too bad. If someone murdered the whole family, and the multiple murders were unsolved, the house would be sold even cheaper, and not many people would dare to buy.

I would not mind buying such a house as long as the legal papers are sound. The house may even cost less because of that and it would be a plus.

I'd rather pick to build my own house. I am certain there are many ghosts in such bloody house.

Not possible to build if you are living in metro Manila with many apartment blocks. I think if the location is good, and the view out of the window is good, there will be buyers. Just not me! i will not buy.

That's an interesting question. I think I might consider buying a house with a bloody past if it was really cheap. Although it might depend on exactly what had gone on. It also made me think, as well as asking if someone would buy a house where people have been massacred, what if the house you planned to buy had been owned by a terrible criminal, or was somewhere they kept macabre mementos? For me, I sometimes get 'feelings' about things. If I didn't then I would buy a house with a murky past. If you can buy it cheaply, and it's unlikely that such awful things would happen again, I don't see why not. I suppose, though, if there had been several families living there, all of whom met a gruesome end, I might be a little put off!

I think if a single incident is scary enough, twice of the same nature will attract the movie makers. They might as well sell it to the producer so that they do not run out of "haunted house" scene if they want to make horror movies.

I probably would. Specially if its past was able to let me get a nice house for super cheap. Of course, many of us live in houses and we don't know for sure that nothing bad has ever happened there.

If the bloody past is a distant past, that is not too bad, but then the price will not be low. If the murder or whatever happens just recently, and you get to see it from the TV, you might as well ask the housing agent to check out if the owner or the estate of the victim wants to sell!

I don't think I could buy a house if I know someone was killed there.

I've heard of houses before that are still haunted by their past. I wouldn't dare take a chance regardless of the bargain. I'd feel uncomfortable and anxious living in a house like that.

Yes, I will not want to live in such a house too. I think something will turn out bad for us even if we do not get hurt.
