It looks as though the old Mylot has finally gone

Despite the new version of the site being officially launched some time ago, the old site has been accessible until now. Whereas the original web address led to the old site and the new one was located by substitutiong the word “new” to replace “www”, the process was virtually reversed. The new site moved to “www” and the old was demoted to “old” instead.
Up to and including last night I had been spending most of my time on the old site, but this morning it appears unavailable.
Despite being happy with the new site, it can be a little problematic for me during this period of seriously restricted eyesight. I am running my browser in 150% zoom, which makes some portions of the site inaccessible and requires me to keep switching to 100% at times.
This may prove a little strenuous for me, but I shall continue for a while and see how it goes.

@allknowing Oddly the site does not appear to be causing me any problems this morning, which is rather strange.
Of course they have been constantly working on improving the site throughout the whole period, so the issues that caused me to avoid the new site may no longer exist.

I have been using an iPad to Mylot since I started. I found just the opposite. The new Mylot was easier for me to read. There were a couple of glitches in the beginning that had me going back to the old ,you, but since they were fixed, I haven't looked back.
Good luck with the eye surgery.

This morning has not presented me with any problem so far, which suggests that the issues that deterred me may have also been resolved.
As for your iPad, I have a tablet and find it unusable for the new mylot because it will not zoom at all.

@Morleyhunt The old site zoomed easily on my tablet by the old pinch and zoom method, but the new one will not.

@Asylum I have. Ot been able to zoom, but the type seems to be larger, so my poor eyes can see it more easily.

Sad to know that you had a hard time seeing the site. the old mylot format probably has to go since most or all of us are here now. you should use the hacker vision which invest the colors of your webpage.
Hacker vision is a cool chrome ext that allows you to invert colors in google chrome to not hurt your eyes. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/hacker-...

I was actually surprised that the old site lasted as long as it did. During the time that the new site has been active and I have been using the old site, there seem to have been a great deal of improvements, so it is less of a problem than I anticipated.

@Letranknight2015 I cannot deny the instabilities of the old site, but it did prove to be practical.

Hopefully your vision issues will be resolved soon, and this will not longer be an annoyance.

@ElizabethWallace Yes, the contrast between two distinct levels of vision would take a little getting used to.

@Asylum I noticed that with my newest prescription for my glasses that my sunglasses need adjusting. The prescription in them is now too different, and changing glasses when I go outside is a shock.

Since the new site was suggested to me, I never went back to the old one, as this one loads so much faster and is cleaner looking too. I have also done it on my ipad, and no, I can't zoom in and out either, but I think that it was set up that way. I just have to be careful that I hit the right keys, as it is very small, but I am able to see it. I find it easier to do it in landscape mode too. Most of the things, I do in my ipad, I do in landscapt mode, which is better I think. It makes everyting seem bigger, at least the keyboard is anyway.

It appears that all my previous issues have been dealt with, although the tablet is still a non usable item for access on the new site. You can imagine trying to use a tablet without zooming with one eye only and that having a cataract.

@rosekiss My cataract was quite severe and the surgeon informed me that it took a lot of work to shatter it, but it improved my sight vastly. Unfortunately the operation was only a temporary success and the right eye no longer has any vision whatsoever, which is the reason for my next operation on it.

@Asylum Yep, been there and doe that one.I now it is hard for you, but things will get better for you in time, once they remove the other cataract. It sounds like you have really bad cataracts too. Of all the surgeries the ey doctor did, he said that mine wa the worst, and the hardest to remove. It is hard trying to see out of just one eye, and a cataract as well. That really sucks. Just rest your eyes, and not strain them, as if they get ied, then just take a break. We will all understand

I don't notice any difference between the tw sites as far as font size on the two sites.

There probably is no difference in font size, but I need to run either site in 150% zoom in order to read the text. Fortunately the issues that I experienced when the site was first launched seem to have been rectified now, so my concerns were a little premature.

I hope after your surgery all will be as it should. And you can just stay at 100% all the time.

@Scindhia I absolutely refuse to become an invalid. Every day I make a short trip out for a couple of hours. It is not always easy because I need to take care since I have no sight on my right hand side, but I feel that it is worth the effort to be out for a while and buy a cup of coffee.

I did start on the old site but two days later they launched the new one and I switched immediately. I use a laptop. I hope that the impending surgery will be a tremendous improvement in your eyesight.

When I open the link of any notification (received in my mail) it automatically takes me to new site. I understand that old site has no longer been working now.
Your problem of zooming in and zooming out is understandable but there seems no option. I also sometimes need to zoom in and zoom out.

As it happens the site gave was problematic originally so I avoided it, hoping to have my eyesight improved before changing over. Now I discover that the issues I previously had have been resolved, so this discussion was posted a little prematurely.
