My Struggles With A Kazoo

I can’t play musical instruments. Not only am I rubbish on piano and violin, I can’t even get a note out of a simple kazoo.
I was at a cabaret in Manchester a few years back where musicians came round handing everyone kazoos so we could join in with some of their songs. Everyone mastered it instantly except me as I just ended up blasting air through the thing no matter what advice everyone offered on the right way to do it. This is a photo of my doomed efforts.

Honestly it's the first time I've heard of a kazoo so it got me searching so your post is really very informative. I guess everyone is blessed with different talents

@arthurchappell never have been able to play any instrument that required blowing into it. I can hardly blow up a balloon
but I can play the piano.

Did you ever play a comb? We used to do that occasionally.

Try listening to a bunch of kids playing them when you're in the throes of a world class hangover. It isn't fun. At all.
