New Family on the Block!

There is a new family on the block that just moved in. And, wow aren't they quite the noisy ones. Understanding they have to settle in their home... but literally the home can fit so many? The homes in this area have only 3 or 4 bedrooms and they have literally 6-7 cars parked all over the neighborhood. Not only that, but they have guests visiting throughout the day, they're loud, they sing majority of the day and the smell of cooking spreads through the neighborhood once you step outside. I hope this is just the "settling in" stages... Normally there are some kids playing out and I haven't seen any lately since the newbies moved in. Do you have that kind of neighbor too?

oh my, don't get my started about my neighbors in the duplex next door. They are sooo loud. Music, pounding, fighting, just to say the least. Plus the smell of pot comes through the walls every now and then. I haven't decided if I want to call the cops yet or just stay out of it.

Oh now theres another family besides me...... that is quite the disturbance with the smoking too! They're relatively new. Bbqs at night like on the daily ~ smoking but I can easily close the windows. And I won't smell it but singing goes through the windows lol.

@infatuatedbby Well the thing with me is all our window are closed and I can still smell the smoking....So that's crazy. It's coming through the walls. That's how thin our walls are I guess.

@T_gray Oh no! That would be very bothersome! I hate the smell of smoke. And it's not good for you as a second hand smoker either! Will they be moving out anytime soon?

That is good you aren't disturbed. I would think by living in an apartment there would be more noise from neighbors but great to hear it isn't bothersome there!!

@abhinalstrikr That is good to hear most are out at work so it's not noisy in your area.

Guests or buyers? LOL Hope you set some boundaries and expectations REAL quick I've had these type neighbors. I went over and introduced myself and told then in the conversation how much I enjoyed the quiet neighborhood. Etc. Good luck!

The previous owners or tenants were a quiet family. With this new family we waved before but that was it. The neighborhood is fairly quiet for the most part until them and a recent neighbor. Now it seems like no one wants to go outside or have their kids play out front...

We did have neighbours that were a pain. They got the rent paid on a massive 5 bedroom house right next to us. We had all sorts of problems and the police were up here all the time. Eventually her kids got taken off her and she was evicted and it's gone back to being quiet again. Having bad neighbours is very annoying especially when you're in your house most of the time.

I hate to admit this, but there was a time back in the 80's, that myself and my roommate were the neighbors from hell.

No, we have a very quiet neighborhood where we live... And we can smell their cooking only if our next door neighbor happens to barbecue out at their back yard.

Not where I live, but it sounds like the neighborhood we left back in New Jersey. We live in the boonies, and the worst we hear are tractors mowing or cows mooing. I'll take that over people noise any day.

Luckily my neighbors are all on the quiet side. We do have kids playing ball or riding bikes in the street but they are mostly quiet and not rambunctious.
