Pet Peeve - Low ballers & Flakers!

I sell online via an app called Poshmark. It's an app where you can sell your new with tags, used, pre-loved clothing, make up, accessories to other app users (in the US). Poshmark takes 20% and you get 80% and buyer pays for shipping. As a frequent shopper - I tend to over shop, make impulse purchases or I just don't like the item anymore after a few wears, so this app is so useful to me! AND one of my huge pet peeves are those who negotiate prices then, once I agree and tell them I'll change the price for them. They have a lame excuse: "Oh I will buy once I get home" "I have to load my card because I only use cash" "Please hold for me!!" .. and there's more but that's just to name a few! And then they flake. Plus the price is listed in the comments so the entire world can see and everyone will try to "go lower". So I have to re-list the item again! Now I don't allow negotiating, and if they want - then it's serious buyers only where they have their credit card linked and if I accept the offer it's automatically sold, and I don't offer holds. Do you have any pet peeves if you sell online? (If anyone's interested in selling on Posh (msg me and I can give you an invite code. I think you'll get $10 and I get $10).

Ugh! It is so annoying right! If the item was used or preloved I don't mind ~ but the item I am selling is brand new with tags and it's already over 60% off! Then I finally budge and then they make some sort of excuse. Why further was my time!

@infatuatedbby ....I think some get caught up in the negotiation. It isn't even the object anymore it is whether they can get the price down or not.

@celticeagle I agree with you! I had a potential buyer a few months ago who negotiated low from the start. I had just listed the item so I was in no rush to sale therefore I refused her offer. Then since I was going to the post office anyway I decided to lower the price and see if anyone was interested. And another buyer offered higher than what she had offered and at that time ~ it was reasonable since I was going to the postal office anyway. Plus, I have the right of my own pricing! Well that girl - was upset saying I pick and choose who I want to sell to. Then, she said it is because she is much prettier so I didn't want to sell to her. It was hilarious.

@infatuatedbby Yes they distribute the paper edition and there is the online edition. We are still "old style" here in Switzerland, almost every family still buy paper newspaper. We are the old continent.

I never sold anything online. I found a used clothing site where you can sell used clothing. I may start doing that if something doesn't fit me anymore again.

I sell like that also! It works out because I have clothes that I don't fit or worn once or twice, and some with tags that I don't like after purchasing and it's too late to return. So these websites work out!

I am just glad I am not into the buy-and-sell business; I think I have to gab for that

I am not in the buy and sell business either - just in the sell business to get rid of items I buy and don't like anymore or impulse purchases, or items I have worn but don't like after 1 or 2 uses, hehe to buy more items.

@infatuatedbby yes, that is what i mean too, my dear friend. I am not into online business, whether buying or selling, whereas many of my former students who are my colleagues now, have started buying and selling online, and sometimes I get depressed because they do not practice their profession as nurses and drifted away

Everyone hates that kind of buyer. They're using tactics to bring prices down, which ain't appreciated at all. A lot of nasty people out there who don't play fair.

Yes, I've sold some stuff on fb and it drives me crazy when they say they want it, then change their mind, but don't bother telling you they just keep you hanging.

I never sold on Facebook but a co owner of mine had lots of successful transactions along with flakers that leave you hanging! At least come back and say "never mind" though that'd be annoying they negotiated then don't even update you.
