Do you lack patience? I am type A.

That said, I lack patience. The more I find myself out and about I find myself fighting the urge to be teleported to another planet because of the boredom of waiting in long lines. I don't even want to entertain myself with my cell phone. It's just that so many use this as a way to cope with the stress of waiting for long times. Even waiting for the red light to change makes me anxious. Yea. I need to take a chill pill. But you know, the times we are living in are full of waiting. Waiting for an elevator, a bus, a doctor, a red light. a checker at the register, waiting for the end of time to arrive. I don't mind waiting for coffee. At least I have patience for a good cup of brew. When I am playing chess I like waiting. I don't want to make a bad move. If I play speed chess I lose before I even get started. The other player is faster and acutely aware of my mistakes and uses speed to his advantage. Waiting for a download was worse though, back in the day of dial-up. 14.4 K baud modems. Can you imagine having to wait for that just to download a single bitmap? Talk about horror stories.

Kids do teach patience. Or make impatience worse.

Little kids and little patience, little by little. Sounds a little like baby steps. ha ha.

I lack patience in most things and easily become bored and restless. A terrible affliction.

I used to lose my patience but it was with certain people. And there are certain people now who can wind me up but I'm less inclined to give in than I used to be. Saying that, I have been told on several occasions that I have the patience of a saint. Mainly because of putting up with an awful relationship for 10 years but also when I'm driving, I'll have a passenger who gets back-seat road-rage and I've had one ask how I can stay so calm in certain situations!

This sounds like good common sense to me.

You're lucky you didn't have to live from where I am. I guess people here are already abnormally patient cause you have to fall in line for everything. The waiting time aren't short either.

I think most people adapt when they are in a certain environment. But compared to where you live I bet I would have a hard time adjusting to long lines and waiting.

@cherriefic , That is true. It's a good thing alright. Actually I grew up in a very small town so I had issues with Dallas, as it was 10 times more crowded than the little town lived in before coming to Big D.

I guess it depends on the situation for me. In some cases I do have patience, and not so much in others.

"Do you lack patience? " no, because it won't change a thing, it won't speed up the line. The few times I'm impatient is when it's hot, I'm hungry, when I'm waiting for payment or closing a deal, money make me impatient.

I seem to be patient when waiting to get paid but seem to want to get rid of it awfully fast.

Like you I am also impatient as I can't wait for things. If a bus is delayed I may be in stress for those 5 minutes of delay

It's quite natural to get stressed when a bus is late because a late arrival of a bus might mean you being late to your appointment.

Lol! I have hyperthyroidism which makes me hyperactive most of the time, but fortunately, I am a very paaatieent person. Aside from waiting, I am also patient with people. Though I have a three-strike rule: you mess up first time -- okay i will forgive you but i'll tell you what you did wrong; second time -- probably a slip, i'll give you another chance but i'll warn you to never do it again; but third time -- get out of my face because I'm not gonna waste any of my time with you anymore.

I'm pretty type B. But some things get my blood pressure up to 125/75. Tonight as I was driving home, stopped at a stop light, I watched drivers going the other way and computed the percentage that were texting while driving. It was something like 40% of those who were driving alone. I almost said a curse word under my breath!
