The Cashmere Caper

I was looking at one of those ads that are on the Mylot pages. It was Neiman Marcus and a sale of 20% off on cashmere sweaters. Oh, my dreamer switched on. I recalled when I had a bit of money for such things back when my daughter was about five or six and I was working at the telephone company. I had splurged and bought myself a pretty rose colored cashmere sweather. I loved the thing. So comfy and soft. Well, one day I accidentally put it in the hot laundry I was doing and it shrunk down to about my daughter's size. When I found it in the wash I was crushed and so mad at myself. Ever do somethng like this? Image is courtesy Flickr.com

I never washed cashmere. I don't often buy cashmere because I don't like going to the dry cleaners, hehe. I always read the labels now prior to purchasing.

Oh I love that pink sweater! In the Philippines I prefer washing my own clothes by hand and I do not use chlorine to maintain its size and look.

@TiarasOceanView ....It's called having too much other stuff going on and not paying attention to what we are doing at the moment.

The worst, and I did it recently, was to wash a red cotton sweater with other clothes so no my husband is wearing pink socks.

@celticeagle I admit my mistakes, why are you so surprised. Now if I happened to poison someone that I might not admit to.

I have never owned cashmere, but I have been to one of the Neiman Marcus stores, I can only image that was pricey. I bought one thing and it was in their bargain basement. lol

I don't think I have ever been to one of their stores. The sweater I bought was from the Bon Marche. They don't even exist anymore.

This is the problem with the Cashmere, hot water shrinks the sweater. I was able to recover one, letting the sweater all the night in water where I added hair conditioner.

My mother put a blanket in the washing machine. I can't remember if it was cashmere or not. It was ruined after I took it out. I was so mad at her. My great-aunt had put some of my dry clean clothes in my washing machine when I had moved. I was mad at her for doing that. They weren't ruined, but I think they had shrunk though.
