I believe that writers are among the most positive thinking group of people. Think about it. For you to put your writing out there for other scrutiny you have to be a positive person. If you weren't, you would never expose yourself to others criticism.
We happen to be a lucky group of writers here on MyLot. Here we are not as likely to be criticized the way w would be on some of the other sites. We are an accepting and friendly type of group.
Anyway, my belief is that you need to positively think about your writing. You need to believe that you are a writer. You need to be able to say to the world - I AM A WRITER. You need to believe.
What do you think?

I'm just learning how critical the members of some sites can be. I share my blog posts at Reddit, and I've had some really harsh criticism there. Sometimes it really makes me doubt myself, but I need the traffic it brings me.

@HazySue My problem at Reddit is that my blog is about my passion - my bonsai trees - and many of the 'experts' there like to tell me that I'm doing things wrong. When they contradict the things I've been taught at my club I'm never quite sure who's right.

@Gina145 I have found that many of these "so-called experts" really aren't experts. It is hard when there are those who contradict when that happens, make sure you write the source of your information in the article itself. If it continues I would ask their source of information.

Think I will stick with aspiring writer. It still says writer. I agree you need to be positive and you need to believe in yourself. Not sure about the critic part. Sometimes it is abusive. I like to think of it as helpful. That does not mean pointing to mistakes or even disagreement of content.

Certainly positivism is part of a writer's life. If I am not positive I cannot write. What writing we should be positive in every part of our life.

Doesn't have to all be positive. Some just have an attitude. For me it is hard to put my writing out there but, for more than one reason and I am not very positive.

@celticeagle our circumstances do have some effect on our attitudes. As long as you keep moving forward you will be ok.
