Will You Party with Your Mom?

Being the ever supportive mom that I am, I was dragged last Saturday night to a concert that my minor son and his cousins watched. My sister-in-law bought the concert tickets because her company was one of the sponsors. I was not initially included in the party but because one of their adult companions could not come, my husband asked me to accompany them. I agreed because I know the bands that would be playing: Up Dharma Down, Silent Sanctuary and Parokya ni Edgar, one of the country's best bands. Actually, Parokya ni Edgar is one of my favorites since college. So the boys behaved when the first two bands played. But when the third band came to the stage the crowd went wild. We were separated from the VIP audience by a wall made of cloth, but when Chito, Parokya ni Edgar's lead vocalist, asked the people to come closer, we made a hole in the wall and in a split second, we were already near the stage. I had to roll over, fell down twice to get there, and I dragged my son along because he hesitated to follow. My husband was left behind the wall. Lol! It was there near the stage that the boys really experienced the awesomeness of the band. I was actually jumping up and down and singing all the songs -- yup, I was surprised I have memorized the lines -- while video-recording using my phone. My son was still reserved so I told him: hey, you can jump and shout, if you want. And so he did. So all of us, except maybe my husband, had a good time. A super fun night, it was.

No, I never tried that with any members of the family. Only once that I attended a concert but I left as soon as I sign my attendance.

Oh! Why? You don't listen to rock bands? The crowd that we went body-slamming with errr watched with was actually a good crowd so the concert turned out to be a pleasant experience for the boys.

@yalul070 I also like those and jazz , or are they the same ? I think soul is jazz in our time. But anyway , i like those bands also because i like happy music and they make me nod my head while working . They give me a happy feeling . I don't like sad songs .

@yalul070,You indeed had a great time there in the concert.I have never had the opportunity to party with my mom. She's too busy with household chores. And perhaps she enjoys it.However the next time I will try to take her with me.

I have never partied with my parents, but I have not partied a lot when I was young.

When I was a teenager there were a number of times that my mom brought us to a bar. But even then, it was not party in the same light that I partied with my friends.

@LadyDuck I think eating with parents in restaurants is more like the norm than partying with them

@yalul070 I went to eat at the restaurants with my parents, but they did not bring me to parties, not as I intend a party among teenagers.

I think it just so happened that Parokya ni Edgar is timeless. We both could relate to their music.

That was definitely cool. To have a mom with you in a concert not as a chaperon but more like a friend. It would be totally fun.

You should. And please, I know how business-minded you are, but if you do go to a place like that, please enjoy your time and put your mind off from any cost that you might have incurred for going there.
