On A Silo

Since moving to this small town I have seen a lot of unusual lawn ornaments. I have see a huge American Flag made of colored stones. A small Ferris Wheel with flower boxes as the seats. At least 4 yards with windmills that spin. And a life sized Fred Flintstone and a Barney Rubble car. I will have to find the pictures of those they are pretty cool.
But the most unusual is the John Deere tractor on top of a silo in the front yard of someones farm. I asked around town and yes it's a real John Deere tractor. How they got it up there and secured it is a mystery to me, but it's very unusual to say the least. I have been in this town for 14 years and that tractor is still up there.
What unusual lawn ornaments have you seen?

That is different, I don't know how safe that is given that the cement of the silo will eventually break down over time and the tractor is heavy. But I guess it isn't my concern.
There is one yard in the town near us that is unique. It has a huge pond, actually it is two ponds and a water fall in the front yard. An odd place to put it, but they must like it. They literally have no grass to cut as a result because all around the pond are river rocks.

@fishtiger58 Both odd to be in the front yard as well as to be under two very large trees. Skimming the pond for leaves is one of my least favorite tasks.

It's been up there for 14 years that I know of. But yes I'm thinking you are right it will eventually come down. I bet the ponds are very pretty though. Odd to be in the front yard though.

@fishtiger58 Mine either, but the person who has the wringer washer has cascading flowers from it in summer and it looks very nice.

@gofsey After my initial shock and thought about how the heck they got it up there, I did think it was the coolest thing I had seen in some time.

@fishtiger58 Ha ha Yes, it must have been a bit 'up'setting. But it is cool in a way. You will find something different everywhere, and it refreshes the mind.

I really haven't seen any of those sorts of things, but I did see something weird. It was like a 1930s style bicycle passing through the middle of a large tree. The tree had grown up through the tree and incorporated that part of the bike as part of its trunk, with no spaces. Weird.

When I first saw it I thought it was a fake tractor, but I have talked to some old timers here and they all say it's the real deal.

Just down the street is a house that has used old doors in a variety of ways. They have made a charming pergola by putting a lattice top over two doors. They have other doors in various positions in their yard and a farm implement, I think a spreader that gets shifting decor with the seasons as well as flowers. I have seen beautifully polished drift wood and other things like that. Their John Deere in your picture looks very well kept.

It does seem to be in good shape, I have been looking at it for 14 years now. So you going to get pictures of what you described?

It had to be a crane, I can't imagine how else it would have gotten there.

My town seems to hold the market on strange lawn ornaments for some reason.

That's awesome. What a sight. The John Deere must be securely attached. It had to have been a crane to get it up there.

It had to be a crane, only way to get something that heavy way up there. It is quite a sight.
