Bad date & impulse buys!

I've always "spontaneously" buy things because it seemed like a good idea at the time! Especially items of clothing! My bursting wardrobe speaks to that. My latest impulse buy is a floral print top which cost $3. Seemed like a bargain. Except when I wore it out to a date.. who promptly informed me it made me look like a mushroom! So erm.. lol! Needless to say, I won't be seeing him or the top again. Have you ever purchased anything you regret afterwards? What about bad dates, been on any lately? Photo: Wikipedia

Sounds like your date wasn't a fun guy (fungi). Get it? Well, obviously you didn't get 'it'. lol I am sorry, I don't mean to laugh, it's his loss.

Same here, happily married. As far as shopping is concerned, I did my fair share of impulse buying when I was young, but not anymore.

Oh that guy would so be history. Too bad about the top. I haven't been on a date since my divorce 22 years ago, so that would make it over 42 years since my last date.

yep he is so toast. It's a nice top though, I might make some modifications and keep it. I do like the print and the fabric, shame to discard it, I reckon if I unstitch the waist, so it falls straight, should change it signigicantly.

So, did the guy get drink thrown in his face? LOL I don't find you to be the person to swallow an insult and pretend to be happy. So, what was YOUR response? I am more interested in that!

Bad dates? Yeah. Hahaha! But never because of a comment on what I wore. Purchased anything I'd regret later? Not really because before I buy something I think of it a hundred times before buying. You know, as a mom, I had to weigh in how many donuts or pizza could that money buy, etc. etc.

@Drosophila there were a few times that I would buy something unplanned, especially if i'm out with my friends because they'd tell me i deserved it lol! So there was a time that I only accompanied them while buying shoes, I ended up buying 3 pairs of shoes for myself. I don't go shopping with them anymore.

Ya this guy is a moron! Apparently that was meant to be a complement... Something about mushrooms have long legs. Anyways he is now on the block list. Wow ok, so no impulse buys then. I don't have children so I guess I can't eat all the donuts or the pizza else I'd look like a balloon and not a mushroom

Are you kidding, Wendy? Uhm... Where did you find this guy? In Walmart at 2 am? LOL! I haven't been on a date in years! (It isn't a date if you just get together for one thing and then go home again, right?) I do have a good story about a blind date I was talked into going on, but I really don't want to share that on myLot. If you want, I can email it to you, though. I am quite sure you looked beautiful wearing that top!

It won't be today, but I will get to it as soon as I can. You have a great day! It is about time for me to get ready for work.

Lol! If what you wore caused your date not to call, good riddance to him! I only date my hubby, but have learned to only buy something if I really love it, and it gives me the shakes. I still have clothes hanging in my closets with the tags still on which I bought years ago.

Point 1...not sure how you looked so I can't say that annoyance is right. Kidding.. Point 2 .. Some people are simply not equipped for small talk and glib tongue. I would be wary of those who say I looked pretty in something I knew to be not really extra ordinary. Point 3 .. I am no great one for fashions. I wear what I like and what suits me. Sometimes others appreciate. Other times they don't. It is difficult to come up with a wardrobe that everybody will like and me too. So to me that is not something that would perturb me. Point 4. The guy needs a dosage on sense of humor. Or may be he was nervous around you and started talking something out of nervousness. lol.

I once purchased some cheap shoes that were only good for one wear. What a waste of money. I would have saved a lot more if I had just bought more expensive shoes with better quality. As for dates, well, I've been with the same guy for almost 12 years, so I guess our dates aren't bad considering we're still choosing to be with each other.
