Woke Up Freezing This Morning! / myLot

Went to bed overheated and woke up freezing!

I am happy the spring weather is finally here, but these transitions from one season to another do tend to throw me off! The last couple of days we've had balmy weather with daytime temperatures worthy of early summer. We've been turning the heat off and opening up the windows and doors to let the breeze in. I only shut the house up and turn the heat on low at night once the sun goes down. But last night the weather shifted, and we got a bit of a drizzle today. So of course, the temperature fell. I went to bed overheated, and seriously considering turning the fan on. But I woke up feeling like a block of ice! I actually had to put the heat back on this morning, and it still hasn't taken the edge off the cold. Spring weather can be lovely, but it's sure unpredictable! It's autumn here, though it's still been feeling like summer so far. Sadly I'm told that there's a cold spell on the way and I'm dreading it. I hate winter. At least you've got warmer days to look forward to.

@Gina145 Wow, I can't imagine not having heating in a house! Even here in our fairly mild microclimate, it's a necessity.

Unpredictable is right!! I'm in a tank top plus a heavy sweatshirt . You don't wear this stuff in the spring!!

Hubby just announced that later in the week the temperatures will go up into the mid-20s Celcius. (That's in the 70s for my American friends.) Today it's a mere 9 degrees - that's 48F!

I wish we had normal temps for spring weather. We've had snow showers since Saturday and they finally ended. Today it's finally going to be in the 50's but with rain.

I used to love the spring rain. I guess I still do, but I'd like it better if the temperatures didn't fluctuate so much. Doesn't it seem that the changes are a lot more drastic than when we were little?

My country is tropical so there is no winter here, but I could imagine it would be so freezing at winter, maybe what I want will just cuddle in my blanket xD

We are actually very lucky in our little valley. The temperature in winter does drop below freezing, but not by much. There are teenagers here who wear Bermuda shorts right until December, and are seen in just shirt sleeves in the middle of the winter.

We'll likely be a bit chilled all day, since it's wet. Our old building holds onto the moisture, and it chills the air. But we have plenty of sweaters and blankets!

We generally have a nice transition from daytime temperatures to overnight lows. I especially appreciate that in summer, our lows are comfortable enough to afford us a peaceful night's sleep. But in spring and fall, it's all out the window!

It is cold and windy in my area. Snow has fallen. I think Spring played a joke on the first allowing it to be so warm out.

I have not shut the heat off completely yet. It will be a couple of weeks yet. We have a heated mattress pad which makes sleeping toasty. I still use a fan, though.

I'm in that phase of life where I'm constantly having to readjust my body temperature. Some days the rest of the family are wearing sweaters and turning the heat off, and I'm in a tank top with the fan running, LOL!

Totally unpredictable I agree. I am down in Minnesota and yesterday it hit 60 and now today its back down to 30 with a lot of wind. I wish it would make up its mind! Hope you warm up soon.

We have the same big shift in temperatures. It was about 19C here the last two days, but now it's down to 9 and then later it will be in the 20s. That's a shift from a low of 48, up to the mid-70s...

bless yer heart. 'tis been a roller coaster ride here's well - minus the rain, we've jest been gettin' the wind 'round here. 'twas a beaut'f a day here monday. a high'f 82 degrees 'n jest a tad breezy. i do know what'cha mean though, the past week'r so, we've been near record highs, followed by holy flyin' cow patties - somebody build a fire!
