For my friends from other countries , “Palarong Pambansa “ is a national event here in the Philippines , where athletes from all over the Philippines , will be competing in different athletic games. It will be held here in Albay at Bicol University . It will be starting on Sunday and will go for about a week . The athletes from different schools were given their assigned public school where they will be accommodated . They will have their service vans to just send them to the venue . They are now everyday , practicing on the venue . As early as now , the rerouting plan were already made known to the public because the usual route will be where the staring ceremony will be done . We will just watch it on TV , because we know it will be watched by many people and I cannot take the heat because it could trigger my hot flashes or maybe my vertigo . What about you if you are here , would you rather watch it for real or just be contented of watching it on TV , on this hot and sunny weather ?

I had the chance to see other athletes from other regions when I was in high school. When the newly built Narciso Ramos Sports Complex was put into test.

@SIMPLYD I watched because it was a requirement in our PE Class that time. And I was okay with it because I like sports.

Wow, really ! I can just imagine you jumping you with that stick like thing ? Is that it ? Just being an athlete is an achievement even if you didn't get to Palarong Pambansa .

That sounds wonderful! When it comes to events like that, I find that watching on television is just fine. I don't have to contend with all the traffic, all the crowds and I usually have a much better seat! :)

I share the same opinion as you . Specially that here , it';s hot outside . In fact, yesterday on its opening ceremony , 17 persons fainted or suddenly didn't feel well. But they all got their medical attention immediately .

@CRK109 That's because the weather is so hot and there were so many , many people in the venue of the ceremony as well as on the road where they had their foot parade .

my city lost the deal. my city and yours were the top cities where the palaro should be held. based from what I heard (my 2nd degree cousin is a head of CHED here), we lost because we had no 'big person' to back us up. our stadium is well equipped and there are no problems too. But there is always another time. I hope we will have the palaro here next year.

My eyes are not suited to see the outside environment, my dear friend. I tear when I look outside so I have to be in my sunglasses or my reading glasses because my eyes hurt. I can watch on TV.

Oh so then , you just have to watch on TV . I have never watched a Palarong Pambansa ever yet . THis is the first time Albay hosts that . The province really have a big expense for making it the venue this year actually .

When I am there and if my son is one of the athletes, sure I'll beat the heat and cheer for him. He once was a lawn tennis varsity player, but he just played up to regional level only.

Of course when it's your child who is an athlete in that , you wouldn't want to see him for real playing .

I will rather stay far away. It is not fun going out when you know the shopping malls will be crowded, and the traffic will be bad with all the cars coming to watch the sports.

@SIMPLYD I can imagine that. When we have F1 event, I always stay clear of the city area. I wonder why they want to hold F1 right in downtown city central. A lot of people lost their way after the end of work day before F1 because of roads closure. The MRT stations are all packed, and the announcement keeps on asking people to leave the station.

That is true . With the cars sending off the athletes and the spectators , it would be traffic indeed in those areas. That's why there is rerouting for all cars now

@LadyDuck I suppose that's because you are not a sporty person like me too . Though , one thing i would like to watch is the track and field . It amazes how those athletes can run so fast . And i also watch boxing if the boxer is our very own boxing champion , Manny Pacquiao .

@SIMPLYD I used to play volleyball and table tennis. Oh, okay. Hihihi I had to ask because I had a friend there when I was younger,a penpal and we lost connection when we went to high school. We constantly wrote each other. They own that shop and I don't know if they had lots of branches or moved from one place to another because she had different addresses.

It is great a nationwide athletic meeting will be held in your home town .However if it were me ,I would as soon stay at home to watch live TV coverage of the big match as go to the venue.I don't like the place bustling with people.

Our province is so proud that for the first time this nationwide athletic meeting is being held here now until a week . And just like you , i prefer watching it on TV since not only will it be so hot , but it would be teeming with people and that can trigger my vertigo .
