Say Hello to Daisy.

Canada
April 14, 2016 7:11am CST
She is a Weimaraner. Her human mom rescues Weimaraner's, from all over Canada and the US. She is such a sweet dog. While visiting my friends with the antique barn this past week, we got to see her play in the snow. While in the Antique Barn, she was right there with all of us and had a hiding place with a wonderful comfortable bed, she greeted everyone who entered the barn. Later in the day when we went in the cottage to chat with the whole family Daisy made herself right at home and this is her daybed. Isn't she beautiful?

She is a lovely dog. So gentle and sweet. I don't think I've ever herd her bark, she is a watcher, not a barker.

Daisy is a beauty. A friend of mine used to have a Weimaraner and it was the best dog so calm and gentle.

@Marcyaz I'm glad yours is a comfort and not a pain. I've had both but not anymore. No pets now so we can go where and when we decide to go, nothing stopping us or slowing us down. Sometimes I miss them....

She is beautiful, but they are a beautiful breed of dog. Daisy looks like she might be an older dog, which is probably why she is so calm ... or maybe that is just her natural disposition. I believe that Weimaraners are generally high-energy dogs that need a lot of exercise and attention, though. The ones I have known either always had to be around their humans or with a group of other dogs, because they would get upset if left alone, especially for hours at a time.

@PainsOnSlate The fact that she is attached at the hip to your friend could be the breed or it could be due to the abuse or a combination thereof. It is wonderful that she found such a loving home, though, and she seems very happy now!

She is beautiful. I can imagine how much you enjoyed meeting her. What a shame that there is a need for a Weimaraner rescue service. Or any kind of rescue service.

They rescue lost dogs in floods and other disasters, if they have tags they are returned to owners but if no tags, they need to be rescued to stay alive.

@PainsOnSlate I must admit I hadn't thought about floods and natural disasters. Your friend is doing a great service.

Awww, hello Daisy! You are a good looking dog with such beautiful coloured eyes. I like your short hair and I'll bet that Mom does too because you probably do not leave a lot of it around in the house. If I were there with you, you'd be sitting in my lap and we'd be snuggling because you just look so adorable, and I love dogs!

I never thought of the short hair. All my granddogs leave a huge amount of love when they go home in the shape of dog hair. She is pretty big, you would probably we sitting next to her, not a lap dog!

@PainsOnSlate You've seen the pictures that I post of Ellie, and I take her in my lap too, of course we need to be on a wide chair or a couch for her hind legs. But I do love a bigger dog.

they're beautiful 'n very loyal pups - though some're quite high energy 'n 'll get into trouble if'n ya leave'em to their own. the pup here's half weimaraner, half german short hair. we'd a full blooded many years 'go. used to jump our 6' fence whene'er we'd come home, lol.

@PainsOnSlate that's bird pups fer ya, they make great family additions 'n 't times can be very protective. the one here's purty laid back, but i hear her sire (the full blooded version) 's quite the handful, lol.

This pup is attached to the hip with her human. Wherever she goes, she goes too. I'm not sure how old Daisy is but she was a rescue, she is not a pup, well trained and quiet.

She is very cute. How does her size compare to a greyhound? My friend has a greyhound and it's a huge dog.
