The Storm of the Century - Update

Here in Manitou, we got lucky. The rest of the state got hammered. My Denver-area friends are posting backyard photos on Facebook, all of them showing patio furniture with what looks to be at least two feet-high mounds of snow on top. Denver International Airport had to cancel hundreds of flights. Vail Pass was closed on Friday night. The eastern plains got pummeled. Meanwhile, here in Manitou, it did snow from Friday night through all day yesterday. We, by looking at our complex mail box, got about three, maybe four inches. More importantly, it did not stick to the streets or sidewalks. They were wet the entire time, but they are dry now. It's not even worth taking a photo, because it would be disappointing compared to what I'm seeing from the rest of the state. In fact, I was just outside. What we did get is already starting to melt. It may have been The Storm of the Century for the rest of the state, but here, it was just another spring storm, and a bit anti-climactic.

Colorado snow fall always means we'll get water in the Rio Grande so I can't say that I am sorry there's snow, but I imagine it's not an easy thing to put up with .... I'd never heard the bangles before, they did a bang up job on that song

Glad you liked the song, it's one of my favorites by them. Historically, March and April are our worst months. I guess we live with it for the privilege of living in Colorado.

I've heard you have beautiful forests @teamfreak16 without the snow once or twice a year they don't really do well.

@rebelann - Oh, they are beautiful, at least when they aren't on fire. Of course, a good, snowy winter would help in that regard.

Pleased to say we were having some mild, if rainy, weather. I can do without a storm

It snowed again last night. But it's sunny and warm now, and it's all melting.

Maybe you should be pleased that the storm of the century didn't eventuate. :)

Better you than me! I just put my house plants and garden plants outside. I have the a/c on its 80° F and I love the hot.

I never even made the connection. Just shows how little I pay attention sometimes.
