Vegan rant

I am aware that this might bring upon me the hate of many people but the truth must be told regardless how hard it is on people. People like to claim that they are animal lovers and that we should care for them. You mean like you care when they are abused and butchered for food? You do understand that this is what happens to them, do you? Or you think that the stake and the milk from your meals involve no abuse or butchering of any living being? And no, eating plants or fruits is not "plant abuse" because they do not have any brains nor blood nor nerves. I hope that this will not seem too offensive to anyone especially the moderator (because the moderator has the power to remove my post).

No offence here. But I do eat meat...and I like eating meat. I do care about animals but maybe not in the way you do. I eat organic meat that has been raised within strict welfare standards. Whatever vegans say I believe we are designed to eat meat and vegetables. The moderator would never remove this as it breaks no rules.

So, if a group of cannibals and aliens takes away someone you care about and they treat that person that you care about really well, feeding it high quality food to make it fat and after a while they kill that person that you care about and eat it, does that make it ok?

@Mike197602 I think you are not being serious though. No one can take this statement of yours seriously.

Just one moment Milk is not from abused cows wherever did y ou get such an outlandish idea. Milk cows are really cared for and the premises are clean and the animals are never abused. Milking them does not hurt them and they would be in pain if that milk was not taken from them. I find that thinking of abuse to b e very ignorant of how milk cows are treated and how milking is done.

@Hatley so, at your farm the calf does not get killed? And the cow does not get exploited? Well, if so, then I do not much have anything against this but I can hardly see how.

You do understand that in order for you to drink some milk, the calf must die or be taken away so that it won't drink it, do you? You do understand that a cow would live about 14 years if they would not be milked but they live about 6 years if they are milked, do you?

Being vegan doesn't necessarily mean a person cares anymore about animals than non vegans. A lot of people choose that way of eating purely for health and or financial reasons and nothing else.

yeah, but does this mean that this is an excuse to keep exploiting and abusing animals?

@Cristi_Ichim those who aren't vegans?

@LdeL0318 no. Not against those who aren't vegans but against those that claim that they care about animals' well being but they are not vegan. Those that claim that do not care about animal well being and they do not consider themselves to be animal lovers are not as bad as those that do claim that they are animal lovers but they do not care about how much animals are affected on a daily basis by their eating habits.

though I disagree with what is a standard arguement I'm not in any way offended by it - we have the teeth of meat eaters - liking and loving animals doesn't mean we shouldn't kill them - most food animals you see only exist in such numbers at all from being bred for food - cows could not actually survive in the wild - unless milked by us they would be extinct very quickly.

@Cristi_Ichim though we share characteristics of apes and monkeys we dominate areas where fruit does not naturally grow while monkeys naturally stick to areas rich in fruit such as jungles and rain forests - we are omnivores and hunter-gatherers, and include meat in a more diverse less exclusive diet
Are humans instinctive fruitarians or omnivores? Weighing the evidence re: our sweet tooth, hunting/herb use by chimps, hunting by prehistoric humans.

@arthurchappell I like how you try to retaliate but I simply disagree with that article. I think we can agree to disagree.

They would not necessarily go extinct. We can keep them as pets. "we have the teeth of meat eaters" That is simply false. We do not have the teeth of meat eaters. We have the teeth very similar to the monkey's which is frugivore.

I'm not offended but I don't find your discussion adds much to the debate. I'm not even sure who you are ranting at.

@Bennkz03 1. This implies that I believe in that book too which is not really the case. I am a skeptic. I do not know what to believe about God. 2. Even according to the bible that you believe in, God created the human to be frugivorous, not omnivorous. God gave the humans that he created the fruits from the garden to eat, not the animals. And the food for the animals was the grass. So, what humans are according to any theory, whether creation or evolution, is frugivorous beings meaning that they are meant to eat fruits.
