Well, I found shorts...

In an update on the irritating shopping saga, I found some stretchy shorts for 8 dollars to wear around the house and mowing, as the three pairs of shorts I had that I could use that for had gotten to the point with enough holes they were no longer appropriate to wear in public, lol. As in, built in venting holes, lol. Anyways, since they fit and were 8 dollars I went ahead and got two pairs. I still need another pair of long shorts appropriate for work, but another day. I tried enough on this trip as it was. I also found a nice tank top and two button up shirts, they were all in the 10 dollar range. So I spent more than I wanted, but came out with 5 things I needed.
Why did I need shirts? Going through my closet recently, I realized that I had prob three shirts that weren't given to me by work, two teeshirts and on tank top, etc. So I needed a few things to wear to other things. These new ones I can make do with for a bit. This leaves me down to needing to replace my tennis shoes as they also have a developing hole, but that will happen next week I think. Well, and the afor mentioned needing long shorts for work. I have two pairs that work ok atm, so will wait a bit longer on that.
So it wasn't a bad trip, I just hate trying on things, and having to spend money like that when money is tight. Hubby did say he was glad to see the shorts hit the trash bin, as they weren't even fit for rags. So there is that.

I just bought a pair of beige capris. Although I have a few black pair and also denim, I wanted a lighter color to wear when it is extremely hot outside. I do have a few pair of shorts that I can wear to work. They frown upon them being worn, but I could give a flying fig. They come down to nearly the top of my knee. Not like they are short shorts. Wouldn't wear those even if I had the figure for them!
We hate to spend money when it is tight, but we do need to dress appropriately and therefore we must spend.

pretty much, and I do the same thing, I have those shorts that hit between my knees and my ankles, and those are ok via the handbook, whereas shorts are not, this is texas, and I will NOT wear long pants when it gets hot

@Jessicalynnt the employer understands that we go into places that have no ac and no fans quite often. It is unbearable to have to have to work when it is so hot that you don't want to move.

@ElusiveButterfly we are in an air conditioned office but coming and going can be miserable, if they made me wear pants I'd end up keeping a set of pants at work and changing when I got there

I have one outfit I wear out side the house. I have a winter long sleeved shirt, a hoody and a long dress. I have about two or three pairs of shoes. That's it! Not fit for rags? Guess you needed something new.
