My New Car Has Arrived

Yes it seems a little odd to me but I am sure I will get used to it.

I am a little afraid of a white car that I will have trouble keeping it clean but if we take it to Florida, it really should be white or at least a light color.

@BelleStarr Black is the worst to keep clean. You'll be pleasantly surprised. We have three cars with keyless ignitions.

@BelleStarr White is a good color for here, At least it ain't red as that color gets hit more often than some of the others

I used to have a Ford Escort, I loved mine but this one is very cute.

Escorts weren't too bad @BelleStarr but still...........

@rebelann It was a little burgundy wagon that lasted me for many years.

@pgiblett Yes and the hot weather has not arrived yet!!

I am enjoying it so far but had to send it back for a fix, the A/C isn't working. It seems the compressor is shot!! It is under warrantee.

I have not even thought about that yet and come to think of it we have never named the Forrester. I do however call my GPS Betty!!

We have never named our cars. I don't know why. I did name one once but then promptly forgot to ever call it by its name then forgot what the name was.

It is a little strange especially since you have to have the remote with you in order for the keyless to work. Ah new technology!! Gotta love it.

@fishtiger58 I would too and actually, in the remote there is a removal key, it is soooo weird!!

@BelleStarr I think I would just prefer the old way with a key.

@BelleStarr What happens if you lose the remote?

@Marcyaz The car won't start. That would be really bad!!

It does seem off but you have to have the remote opener with you r you can't start the car so while you don't put anything in the ignition you still need to know where your remote is. lol

I am getting a similar mileage so I am very happy. It is a very cute car. I am glad that you like your new car too, it is a god feeling isn't it?

I have to come up with something sporty what is a sporty name? Martina? Steffie? Christie? I will have to thin!! lol

@BelleStarr Hmmm, that is something to ponder. What about Viv, that was the character's name that Julia Roberts played in Pretty Woman, and we know how she looked!

I have not named it yet and we realize that we have not named our Forrester either. I do however call my Garmin GPS Betty!!

@BelleStarr We do not have a GPS, but all our cars had a name.

Nioe the new ones have push button ignition, it is very odd but the way of the future I guess.

@jaboUK Well this was a first for me as well. I do travel around with my friend who has one of these keyless ignitions but I have never driven one until today!! lol I am a dinosaur.

lol I love that, the mail slot!! This one has a GPS that is already bugging me by not working correctly.

@crazyhorseladycx oh yes they can be quite temperamental. Of course it depends how they are set, one option is the fastest route, one is the most direct and there are others so that may explain some of the issues.

@BelleStarr the aunt insisted i take her gps with me'n one'f my emergency runs to tennessee some years back. mind'ja, i've made that trip many times with no troubles, but 'twas curious 'bout't. seems it'd troubles with o'erpasses?? coz it'd always tell me to exit right 'fore 'em 'n then to get back'n the interstate right 'fter. it also didn't comprehend that back'n the hills, there's typically 3 roads jest a breathe 'way from each other 'n 'twas prone to tellin' me the wrong'un to take. one day i listened to't (still aint sure's to why?) 'n wound'p drivin' some loggin' road'n the midst'f nothin' with no place to turn 'round. should'a taken me 'bout 35 minutes to get to the hospital dad was'n. instead, took me nearly 3 hours!

lol Thank you we were definitely lured in by the cute sporty looks. I love it.

@MarymargII It is not quite as peppy as the Forrester which has great get-up-and-go but is is smooth and handles well. I sit very comfortable too which is what I first liked about it.

@BelleStarr How does it drive? I always love the excitement of a new car- you just feel like taking off in it for awhile and enjoying the feel of it.

It is a window on the top of the car, if you see the picture the moon roof is visible. Some people say sun roof.

Well usually that is a very good thing, peace and calm is a good thing.

It is a learning curve that is for sure but after a few drives it is already feeling natural.
