Hollywood walk of fame

The Hollywood Walk of Fame has several metal stars embedded in the sidewalks in Hollywood. Our package tour of US included a visit to this spot and many of us took photos embracing the star of our favourite celebrity going on our fours. I chose Julie Andrews. I don't think I would do it now and wonder what got over me to get trapped in that madness. Have you done that too?

I've never been there and at my age I wouldn't get trapped like that, I'd have a heck of a time trying to get up.

That is another matter and I suppose many of us would find it difficult too but the thought that I did it I now get the feeling 'oh my God why did I'

I remember you mentioned you were out here . . . and here's a photo to prove it ! People get starry eyed for celebrities - and if they can't meet them, I suppose being able to touch the very spot a famous celebrity imprinted their marks might make a person feel as if they have been touched by that celebrity. See, so next time I am out there and I find Julie Andrews (which I'm sure we've seen and bypassed many times now), it will have a different meaning to touch it knowing you were once at that very spot too!

We have lived in Los Angeles 4 month in the 90's, we have visited the walk of fame, but I have not put my hands on the ground.

Embracing the stars means hugging the pavement?

@allknowing No one in particular. I only like meeting stars in person.

@Marty1 They were there, but things like that don't impress me.

It's just an experience but looking back I now feel silly that I even went down there

@allknowing I wouldn't feel silly. It's nice to see these things and go to these places if you have the chance.

No, not me. Interestingly, some of my friends teasingly call me Julie, as they think I look like her.
