Every time that I look outside the window of my office room I see this beautiful bush of yellow climbing roses. In spring the roses bush is in full bloom and almost cover the old stone archway. I have tried several times to clone those roses, but without success. Today I have saved several pages that explain how to clone a rose. As soon as the flowers wither, I will cut a 6 inches stem and follow the instructions. Have you ever successfully cloned a rose? If you have suggestions to give me I will be grateful.

Have you posted the wrong photo Anna? - they don't look like roses to me, and they are certainly not yellow.

Believe me they are climbing roses, I have photographed them with a zoom and the light is not the best. Tomorrow I will climb up and take a closer photo so you can see that they are yellow roses.

There are two roses that have grown this year spontaneously in our garden. I suppose the seeds came from the rose bush of our neighbors.

I have found several gardening pages, I will try again following their instructions. The odd thing is that there are roses growing in my garden that I have never planted. The seeds come from the roses of our neighbor. As always when the plants want to grow they do not need a human help.

@LadyDuck God created things in such a magnificant ways. I remember seeing a plant wind itself down into the ground. They used timed video taping to show it. Wow was that ever awesome. God You are so good and so awesome the way You made everything!

You are absolutely right, I will cut more than one stem and put them in a plastic bag with root stimulants. I have read that I have to wait until there are no flowers. Anyway I will also grab some flowers and try to grow them from seeds.

@LadyDuck dependin' 'pon the rosebush, many'll not grow from seed - they're hybrids :( but, they will from doin' cuttings. 'nother thingy ya can try's to lay a branch 'long the ground, cover with soil 'n put somethin' heavy'n that section - it'll root. i'd not separate't from the "mother" 'til next year, but that's always been a fail-proof way i've done 'em fer years. best'f luck!

WOW what a pretty picture that makes, one can hardly see the leaves. It is very difficult to grow Roses in Mangalore where I live because the weather is too hot throughout the year and the monsoons are severe, not at all good for roses..

When they are in bloom you cannot see the leaves. I think that I have to cut the stems when there are no flowers. I will try again.

@ajithlal Yes, but in our country you have to move the tree inside for the winter, you need a place where to put the tree, or the cold will kill it.

I just cut a stem with fresh growth and stick it into mist cocopeat and cover it with transparent soda bottle or ziplock bag to keep the moisture. I have a lovely double colored rose which people keep asking m to give..

I had roses growing spontaneously in my garden this year, I think the seeds come from the roses of the neighbor. We did not planted them and there is a concrete wall going down in the ground, so it does not come from the ground.

That is a beautiful photo Anna. Toward the end of summer a friend gave me some cutting of some pink roses I admired. The cuttings have been in the ground for a couple of months now and seem to be surviving, but I won't know till summer. They are bush roses though, not climbing roses.
