It is really cool that we can have private messages here on myLot. I like to ask or share things privately from time to time. On the other hand, I do not want to be bothered, harassed, stalked or otherwise messaged for no good reason. From time to time new users will message me Hello. Nothing else. Just like many of their discussions, there is nothing to discuss, no way to move the conversation forward. So just stop it. Stop messaging me to say "Hello" Stop posting this emoji

. I have only blocked on person on the site ever, and it was due to improper use of messaging. I reported that person as well. I will remove you from my following list next. I have deleted your pointless messages.

I have only blocked one person on here also. I have never gotten these type of PM's that you describe This reminds me of a persistent situation I come up against on a game I play on Facebook. I have gotten into the habit of going over to Facebook to take a break from My lotting or my writing. One of my favorites is one called Farkle. It's a dice game and I enjoy it. I play with whoever comes available. Many times I get some jokester that wants to flirt. I am not into it at all and tell them so. When I do they leave the game abruptly. I can't believe it! They use Farkle to make connections on. I have to chuckle. Hard up or what?

Some of us do not want to flirt. I do not blame you for telling them so. It probably beats meeting people in a bar, but I have heard bad stories about people who meet through online activities.

I was following him. I usually follow people back who follow me, trying to give them a boost. This is one way to get unfollowed quickly in my book.

Depends on the day and on how many days it goes on. They are much more likely to get interaction in a discussion.

I have gotten the same kind of messages and also ones trying to get me to join another site-neither of which do I respond to. I just don't really see the point...

I think that little blue dot saying I have a message is disturbing.I will just delete it next time, that works.

I did message a member today because I haven't seen her in about a week or so, and I was worried. She got back to me and otherwise I wouldn't ever bother someone with anything trivial, but sometimes it is necessary to use the private messages.

Yes, if you have not seen any activity there is a point to that kind of message. I am not against messaging. I am against people who try to flirt and who do not offer any interaction or connection sending repeat messages. Grumpy today I guess.

Good point..... i'm sorry you're being harrassed a bit by these people..., like you I think it's good we can private message each other...but it's not nice when it is abused....

I will also say that sometimes I am more easily bothered than others. This is not the first time this has happened but it is the first time I have gotten so annoyed.
