I was awakened at 8:45am this morning to a text from my daughter saying my niece had her babies. That she had posted about 20 minutes prior. I went to Facebook to check it out. Such sweet babies. They were born one minute apart by c-section. I don't know how long she was in labour but my sister was with us at lunch yesterday and didn't say anything about getting a call that her daughter was in labour. She had the babies just before 3am this morning (Monday).
They are not light weights coming in at 6 lbs. 2 oz. and 5 lbs. 10 oz., which I think is big for twins. I think she was in her 37th week (due around the 24th but scheduled for induction on the 16th. They are named Madeline Joan ( her husband's gradmother's name and his mother's middle name) and will be called Maddi; and Abbigail Marie (Marie is my sister's middle name) and she will be called Abbi.
My nephew, sister to this niece, is expecting his first in June - Khloey Christina. My sister is going to have her hands full. LOL!
My husband also has a niece and nephew (from the same family) due for second babies in June.
I'd love to share pictures but I'm afraid. Maybe later.

When I saw my niece at her baby shower on April 1st I thought she looked small for someone carrying twins. Then a month later my sister showed me a picture of her and she was huge. At the shower I guessed the total combined weight to be 11 lbs. 3 oz. and total weight is 11 lbs. 12 oz. Not sure yet if I won the pool.

@nanette64 I haven't heard that I did. Either my sister hasn't checked yet or I didn't win. I don't know what other people guessed.

@patgalca You can keep your childrens private and only tag some family and friends.
I never ever post pics of my grandchildren. My children do so I don't need to. But I agree, it's hard to not want to show them off.

Yes, they are good are a good size! My twins were about 5 lbs each. They were born nearly 5 weeks early.
Congratulations to you and your family. They are a handful, but much fun!!!

@patgalca Most twin births are early. Two weeks early or on time is unusual.

The doctor told her if she waited too long into her 30's she was more likely to have twins. I don't know why he said that but he was right. Of course I know that between about 35 and 45 I was ovulating twice a month so I could have had twins. Wish my husband hadn't cut me off after two kids.

They are nice size babies for twins and congratulations on their arrival. Sounds like lots of babies being born into your family

Yes, I don't get to see my family members very often. Not sure when I will get to see them.
I miss the days of having babies, wanted to have more than two, and none of my baby announcements were considered joyous occasions just because I wasn't married.

Congratulations to all concerned. Sounds like there'll be lots of little people running around in a year or two.
