I'm almost caught up with my notifications, so I thought it's time to create a post. I'm not the only one returning, however. Today my son and daughter-in-law are returning from a fabulous two week 10th wedding anniversary celebration. They drove throughout France and as far as Florence Italy. They are planning a return trip to Italy already! My son speaks fluent French. He began in fourth grade, continued through high school, with Latin, too, and won a small scholarship to continue it at Cornell University. He majored in government and French. It has served him well over the years, especially when traveling. I didn't get to babysit my grandchildren. The other grammy and sitter managed just fine. I will get to see everyone this Saturday and hear all about the trip. I can't wait!!!

I doubt it. They live in Manhattan. The only way would be if we moved in.

@rebelann It's New York City and about 75 miles from us. Seems like 5 hours with the traffic.

They look so wonderfully happy in this picture! I cannot imagine how big of smiles they will have when they see their kids again, and the kids seeing them, there will be lots of happy shrills. Its great that you'll all be together to hear about the trip......now you just have to stay healthy between now and then, okay?

It's just as well. All we would be doing is shuttling them to and from schools, ice skating practices - some at 6:00 AM, and other classes and lessons all over New York City. We live 75 miles from them and always have traffic. The other grandparents live in Manhattan and in my state, so the kids spent two weekends in the country with them. I'm looking forward to seeing them Saturday and sleeping in my own bed later. Lol!

Thanks. We are thrilled they were able to have such a wonderful trip. My son saved for it from every paycheck, since the day they married. Not quite enough for New Zealand and Figu as he had hoped. They went there for their honeymoon.

It was for their anniversary. They honeymooned in New Zealand and Fiji. I think the idioms are the hardest to learn in any language.

Knowing few languages is quite useful especially when we travel. I am comfortable with few and manage not to forget them through disuse Enjoy your family time - siva
