I Thought Something Looked Odd

As we were driving on some errands yesterday, I saw cattle and thought something looked odd.
This is a free image, not one I took, but it shows what was so very odd.
We have had several days of rain, the grass is deep. We would pass fields where cattle were laying down and the grass was taller than they were. We would pass fields where they were standing and the wild flowers and other plants came up higher than their bellies.
I was so surprised at how fast everything had grown, and how abundant and lush the greenery was around the cattle.

We haven't had as much growth yet. Hoping that we get a good stretch of warm weather to encourage more growth.

They probably will. It reminds me of the commercial that talked about contented cows.

Opposite on coloring? I like the spring when things are green and lush.

I do enjoy the feeling of abundance. We saw some herds that had black, white, red, black and white and red and white all pastured together.

rain could make the grass grow faster than we expect them to be.

It certainly did and the cows get the pleasure of good rich grass.

The fields are lovely and I also enjoy the big blue sky with white fluffy clouds.

To go anywhere from here we cover lots of rural countryside. The cattle all looked so good, relaxed and pleased with their pastures.

@GardenGerty I enjoy seeing all the stock in the paddocks. It was a bit of a disappointment in Ireland because the hedges were always getting in the way. On the continent (France, Germany, Austria) the cattle are mostly shedded most of the year. This allows the farmer to get more hay crops than if the cattle were out in the open. It starts to sound a bit like caged chickens though.

tgeres just nothing l ike good rains to bring out that wonderful lush green of s p ring here things have a dulled green look as what rain we did get were just showers. the elnino thing that the mediasaid happened in southern cal if was really in the middle of
the state here in southern calif its bone dry again. the showers we had never pushsed up the water tables at all. Watering is still rationed here.Trees and bushes look dusty

Grass an weeds are relentless. I wish I had a better camera of my own to snap photos as we are going down the road.

Yes, that would be odd. It's good though that everything is so lush and vibrant.
