We went over to the lake and I took some pictures of wild flowers. I did not recognize a single one. My new project will need to be researching them in my books or on line. I hope to become of a first name basis with them soon. They are such pretty parts of the scenery.

I like the lupins we have here. They are wild and very delicate.

I am not sure I have ever seen a lupine. I have an image of blue flowers, is that right?

@celticeagle Very pretty. I like the shape as it would add interest to a planting.

I imagine with his job he might have known. Or he may have known the folk names that people called things.

@Jessicalynnt My daughter says she is not good at research either. I used to love hanging out in the library before we had so many computers.

I will type in Wild Flowers in Kansas. Then search by color. Use a description, like five petals, etc.

Sometimes our friends can help us out with things like that. I would love to just plant all kinds of wildflowers.

I only know the most common of our wildflowers too. I have a couple of small books about them but need to do some more research one day.

I am thinking that would be a good quiet pass time after I work hard out doors or something and need a rest.
