It's a pretty day but hot, makes me dread when summer actually gets here. We went for a long drive and meandered all over the area, saw the new soccor fields and ball fiends and all the hotels, motels, gas stations and fast food resturants that have surrounded them.
Then we drove on out into the country and saw all the hay fields, soy beans, cattle and horses. The huge watering systems are unbelievable. They are strung out all over the fields. We drove out one little farm road and met farm tractors and hay bailers.
One huge field they had left to Queen Anne's Lace. My favorite wild flower .I made a pictue of the field. Wish I could show it to you. I love driving on back roads. Where do you enjoy driving?

i prefer back roads any ol' day. i'd the need to giggle o'er the field'f queen anne's lace'n such bein' yer favorite wildflower. back'n the hills where i hail, we call 'em chigger weed - coz they seem to adore'em. if'n ya walk near those beauties, yer gonna regret such later 'n somebody's the need to run into town'n fetch some clear finger nail polish :)

@RubyHawk they always thought me a tasty snack, e'en covered'n diesel fuel, the bottom'f my britches taped'n the like. they seemed to be immune to such tactics. didn't bother the hubs one iota when he went out stompin' with me. 'course, skeeters don't munch him neither, lol.
most interestin' the chiggers're gone fer yer area. i imagine that "progress" 'n the use'f pesticides...

@crazyhorseladycx I remember getting chiggers when I was younger and we wandered around more than we do now, We used kerosene, but chiggers will itch terribly. My kids used to get them too.

You're right about that. Although I haven't had a chigger in a long time, neither have I been near Queen Anne's Lace. I have picked them for a bouquet years ago, and I most likely got plenty of chiggers. Come to think of it. I haven't seen a chigger in many years.

Everywhere as long as it's not in the congested city lol! I like driving out of town where I could view the mountains and the sea. Last month we drove 120 kilometres to a cold spring and the view of the places we passed by were awesome.
